Anyone else really looking forwards to this? Starts next Friday.

Only seen 8 reviews so far, but the word is that it is truly terrifying and fantastic TV.

Don't know whether to watch it from the off, or save up the first 3 episodes and blitz it with my daughter on Halloween night.

Haven't seen anything about it, what is it?
Released next week. Friday 12th.

Horror story, based on the famous novel, considered to be one of the best ghost story novels of the 20th century.

Already been a number of screen adaptations.

About a family that grow up in a haunted house.

Thanks, have set a reminder for it

Need to watch things like this when nobody else is in as they refuse if it's scary. Still want to watch the Purge series too.

Edit, looks as if they are all released at the same time for binging.

Can you binge them first and tell me whether it's worth wasting a day? :)

Ha!

Apparently it is more psychological chills than gore and bloodshed.

Prefer that myself to be honest. Rather have a jump scare than have someone's eyeball gouged out.

Yeah they won't watch if there's a jump scare. Goosebumps is their limit.

Only time I have ever jumped is the Amityville Horror (the new one) at one point where the person suddenly becomes a skeleton unexpectedly. Usually I can tell when it's about to happen anyway but that caught me off guard.

Have you watched them all yet? Have got them all ready to watch so might.

It's between that and Gold Rush for tonight! :)

Nope. Haven't watched any. Going to see if it's okay for my daughter to watch. It so we are going to save some episodes up and watch them on Halloween together.

Pizza, popcorn, horror.

I assume it’s the same plot as the 1963 film The Haunting - it’s not a family I’m a haunted house but a group investigating the haunting - was also a terrible remake with Liam Neeson and Catherine Zeta Jones

Yep the 63 film is excellent. Julie Harris if I remember correctly. Scared me as a child.

The Liam Neeson one was indeed very poor.

Although the 1973 film Legend of Hell House doesn’t claim to be from the same book it clearly was.

Yeah. Wasn't that Vincent Price?

Roddy McDowell - I know the one your thinking of - that was a different film that also had a ghastly remake

But then I think Virgin may block me from accessing.

Had a quick look at it, but I have always been blocked previously with anything like this.

You're ahead of me then.

Been waiting to watch it with my daughter, but she's too busy watching loudmouth, bitchy vlogs talking about Logan Paul and why black is the new black. :(

Sounds absolutely dog shit. Put her up for adoption.

It's quite good, they all die.

I've watched about 4 or 5 now.

I still don't really know what's going on, there's a lot of time switching as well. It goes from present day, 2 months ago, 2 years ago, childhood etc so you have to really concentrate to try and follow it.

Nothing remotely scary either.

Really?

You sure you are watching the right programme? Ha!

I have seen so many reviews saying it is terrifying and really scary.

Are you waiting for someone to put in a crunching tackle or something?
