Patraso would of been a good addition strange how SP kept going on about getting him in then turning down the chance to sign him.

McQuoid hits the bar after a long ball forward finds him and he runs at goal. Would have been a good goal, but maybe not deserved

Wycombe hit side netting after we once again give possession away too easily. Almost every clearance by our back four has found them

We need to be taking control and dictating the game to a league 2 team.

He is getting on my tits!! It's like he's been given orders to roll it to the full backs at every opportunity! Scared to kick it. Not impressed me at all. Saying that no-one apart from Swanson and Willis have.

Yeah, and Allsop did it on Saturday against Swindon. So it is obviously instructions. Build from the back.

McQuoid being held at every opportunity and the ref is giving nothing!

Is quite negative. Would have preferred us to try something different today. Good opportunity for changing things I say, although is a change of formation AND 7 personnel too much change?

True, but I'm sure the younger players would be more at ease in a simplified formation. Also a plan B & C could well be needed at times this season

Does it go straight to pens if it ends in a draw?

It's such a negative tactic and getting us nowhere.

Only been to one this season and it was MK, so hard to judge, but a few on here seem against it. I'll rreserve judgement until I've seen Friday's game. Hoping better quality personnel may make system look better?!?

Yeah I remember him doing it at Bradford. The opposition clock on after the 1st 2 minutes and put the full backs under pressure immediately. It's then rushed back to the keeper who makes a hash of it anyway. It doesn't help with Daniels and Thomas being non existent in the middle though either. Very impressed with Willis this season, he's going to be some player in a couple of years.

Are the academy still playing last seasons formation? Wasn't the plan to get them playing similar to the first team so they'd be better prepared for the transition?

I hope it works better Friday, and Fridays performance needs to be better than this. Much better!

Obviously the personnel will be different but still thing fans will turn quickly if we're not kept entertained

I think it's quite solid when we don't want to play too open against the better teams, away to teams like Preston, Bristol and Sheffield etc.

We need to be going for it more at home and against weaker teams.

I agree. Willis was MOTM for me Saturday and is doing very well tonight too (bar one slip but two other player slipped in succession after him so I won't hold it against him).

Still do not see what is seen in Thomas or Daniels.

Think you are right mate - hope SP isn't another mini-Wenger, in that he's never prepared to use a plan B to adapt to circumstances. I'm all for playing a more cautious game to grind out a point against 'superior' opposition - but tonight?

Apparently they play 5-3-2 too. Find it odd that Elvis doesn't have a philosophy and just plays what's in 'fashion' at that particular period. Played 4-2-3-1 at Falkirk, then 4-4-2 when he first came (said Dortmund were the inspiration even though Klopp is a 4-2-3-1 man) and now 5-3-2. Very worrying tbh.

I'd agree, away from home against the top six sides we are competing with is when it should be used.

All that's lacking is an inspirational player like Carl Baker to set some chances up.

Rightly or wrongly he is making this second string side play to his philosophy.

Pugh doesn't suit this wing back position at all. If he's gonna play he needs to be in a flat back four as a LB. Offered us nothing down the left and whilst there is no winger in front of him we're wasting a lot of possession as there's a lack of options

In a nutshell no but we've looked a lot better since the break. Plus the referee has finally used the disappearing spray.l! It seems that this is the reason many fans have travelled here tonight..the simple things in life

City didn't create any chances at mk dons and also looked lost.We certainly need to be able to change formations in a game if it's not working.
