You don’t finish 7th being shite mind mate. We need to recruit well in summer to boost our squad as we are quite thin. But we have big backing and I’m sure we will. We also have 7 squad players out of contract needing replaced

Hull will presumably struggle; Ipswich are in pretty much the same boat as us, really. How they do will be determined by how good their recruitment is.

The whole league is quite precarious to be honest. Any one of the money teams could be hit with sanctions and implode (unlikely admittedly but can't rule it out). Everton have been skirting around relegation for a while and the luck could run out. Palace and Fulham have their problems, ditto Forest. Spurs need a revolution and might not get it. Leeds and Sunderland have the tricky second season to overcome and Sunderland will have Europe to contend with.

It will still be really tough for us.

It's certainly going to be an interesting start to the season for them. Would be great to start the season against them at home.

Maybe the EPL decide that us 3 teams are all weak and they give Manchester City their points deduction this season.

Manchester City were 39 points ahead of West Ham. So maybe 40 or 50 points to make it very interesting.

Depends on how many points Man City get deducted. If its 60, and there is a mass exodus and slump then perhaps them. Bookies have them 12-1 to get relegated so its not beyond the realms.

Every crime has a different punishment. With Manchester City it will have to be a massive punishment or nearly all the charges dropped. Over 100 charges and minimum 2 points per charge? It's L1 territory so they would accept 40 points deduction?

I'm not defeatist and want us to have a good crack at it next season but I look at the league on paper and it looks such a tall order.

It'll need us to be pretty much perfect, both other promoted teams to struggle and even then we need some pretty bad fall offs from now established clubs to have a chance.

It's not a hopeless cause but a really tough challenge, it feels like a pretty strong line up of teams. There are circumstances we can take advantage of that may give us a bit of a boost. It being a world cup year but not having many involved, so many teams in Europe.

Its hard but my mindset is going to be trying and enjoy the ride rather than have much expectations. We need to find that balance of giving it a good go but not screwing ourselves long-term. Player we bring in need the right attitude if the worst does happen and we get relegated, they need to be up for the fight unlike the Luton and Leicester squads before.

Changing the manager and some of the squad isn't always easy.

They weren't supposed to be in trouble this season. I'm going to wait and see what happens before the start of the season before I decide.
