I do think there will be a big surge on Friday for general sale. Then people might start getting "FoMo" but something is wrong if we can't easily sell out for this in my opinion. However, maybe Doug needs to listen. People don't have bottomless pits of money.

Sorry, but youve got people all over this thread telling us what a big game this is yet ticket sales are slow.

And while many of the reasons given for not attending are valid it shows that the demand is probably and its peak and the CBS in its current configuration is more than adequate

It's a smaller cup game with bigger ticket prices. Money can be tighter than normal because we've just come out of the holiday season.

Thousands of our supporters don't live in Coventry. Then you have the normal problems with schools and work. It's an 8pm kickoff so if you stay until the end you won't reach your car until 10pm at the earliest. Many wouldn't get home until the early hours because of how long it could take before you can even start your journey home if stuck in a car park.

We're also playing Villa another 2 times this season where we will see stronger lineups.

With everything considered I would say the numbers sold are decent and the rate they're selling at will increase at the weekend.

It's a big game for me, as it will be for most around my age, and I'm p1ssed off that I can't make it. It's my wife's birthday this weekend and she already has a flight booked to go over. I have to stay for the kids.

Just saw a ticket stub on ebay. Premier league ticket in M&B stand against Arsenal in 1998 was £20, which is just over £40 now when adjusted for inflation. So £50 is 25% more than we would paid last time in the prem

That isn't a problem for me because of how much more it costs to run a club in the Prem. It's the fact that an away ticket is £30 maximum. That's a massive difference.

I'd genuinely prefer we just sold out the stadium to season tickets and made it a closed shop entirely, rather than openly try and rip off a couple of thousand fans for whatever they can get.

Yeah I have never got that, obviously it's not all but I know a bloke who would happily moan if a ticket was £5 more but will spend £50 on food and drink in the pub before and lose another £50 in the fruit machine.

If price / finance is an issue then surely don't drink at the game, have food before you go or get a Tesco Meal Deal or something. Maybe I'm just stingy and used to finding cheaper ways to do things.

If it was Villa in the QF of the FA Cup and they charged £50 the moans would be "I supported the club all my life and I cannot get a ticket"

The amount people manage to consume in 2 hours at a game is astonishing.

I used to sit behind a couple of people who would go down to the concourse to top up on food at least 4 times every match. Its 2 hours!

Considering still 9,500 tickets left and that’s open to season ticket holders and members which would contribute to around 80% of our fan base I would say yes.

It was between 15/16K after the ST window closed, so about 2/3rds had purchased. Difficult to say how many of the sales since then are STHs or members.

Wetherspoons for pre game breakfast washed down with cider. Wetherspoons for a meal and pre match drinks for evening games. Can't go wrong.

£50 is the going rate in the Premier League. All clubs are between £40 & £60.
Our Cat C ticket is actually one of the cheapest but i guess thats not for very many games.

Not sure why away fans are capped at 30 but clubs are free to coin it in off their own fans.

As i say, its "business sense" but its pretty poor.
