I think the difference with Spurs was it was a chance to test ourselves against a big PL side and it was more of a novelty.

Which was ironic given they played their reserves for most of the match.

That and Empty Seats, My Lord.......... which I'm sure they'll be bringing out for this game.

Anyone thats ever mooted the words "ground expansion" need to give their head a wobble. IF, and its a big IF, King ever does it, i think it'll be a few more boxes somehow shoehorned in somewhere. But its certainly never been needed up to this point and not needed now.

If it's purely the money, save money on the food and park somewhere for free. £30 saved, free ticket. That's how my stingy brain sees it

I get the distance and the school stuff, that would be the same for any midweek game though. (In term time)

Any other midweek game is already paid for and not going to cost £100 just for tickets.

Granted, all the other reasons are by the by, but still valid reasons. Like insay, with rush hour traffic on the M1 there wont be time to get the kids from school, home and fed, so either a maccies drive thru or go hungry. And the latter isnt an option. For games already factored in and budgeted/paid for thats ok, but not extras on top.

But tale all that away, the money for tickets alone isnt affordable right now unfortunately so this one's just being sat out. Hopefully it'll be televised being a derby game? Though I think ITV have picked up the Man U v Brighton game?

It’s funny really. Last time we played them at home midweek we won they and only sold the upper tier of the M&B lol

Perhaps it may be both. I know a few pompey lads through work and one of them included that day in his book. And he puts it down to far too much dust and excitement. I'm alright Jack. But had tough times too.
Remember my kids one Saturday morning pleading to go to Derby. Shoved it on a credit card & pretty sure we were 2 down after 10mins. Beaten & broke , shit feeling.

At the price point the club decided on I change my mind and agree with you. Had they made it £20 for adults and £10 for juniors like most of the other clubs are charging this round, I suspect it would not have been a required consideration.

If I were Doug, I would honestly say give a £5 voucher to spend at the club shop with every ticket or a voucher for a drink.
Increases turnover in that department, and most people would use it on something way more expensive so the club wins again. Or the fans drink up the carling!

We massively messed up and what's sad is there will be families at home in Coventry, maybe from under represented groups, who might have been part of the parade through the City last season, who 100% can't afford a premier league ticket but could have found £30 for them and their kid to come along and now won't.

IF a ground expansion is ever considered, it will be on the basis of consistent sell outs we've had for league games over the past couple of years and any going forward into the future.

It won't be rejected because we hadn't sold out once for a 3rd round league cup game a week in advance

Sorry, but youve got people all over this thread telling us what a big game this is yet ticket sales are slow.

And while many of the reasons given for not attending are valid it shows that the demand is probably and its peak and the CBS in its current configuration is more than adequate
