I don't understand how the Trust can claim to speak for everyone.

I had a look on their website and it looks like its a £1 one off fee to join with no further payment required. There's actually no form attached so at the moment it looks like it's impossible to join? I seem to remember a fella walking around the casino years ago collecting quids off people to join the trust. I paid in but I've had absolutely no communication from anyone at the Trust about my membership in the intervening years. Now either the guy was on a monumental blag or the Trust is being run in a massively inefficient way.

If an organisation is to be able to claim that truly represent the voice of the fans they need to prove it. They need to have an auditable membership list. I'd suggest that there needs to be an annual financial consideration to prove that the membership is and remains truly engaged and there needs to be a far more open source of communication between any elected board of a fan group and its members.

My suggestion would be something like £25 p/a for membership with a cheaper rate for the usual concessions (OAP/NUS/JSA/Juniors). Each member has one vote. In 2019 it's easy enough to set up an electronic means for instantly disseminating information and collating meaningful votes on pertinent topics. That way, presuming they have the numbers in their membership, such a fan group could legitimately claim to be the voice of the supporters.

The funds raised can take care of the cost of running such an endeavour, be it membership of any associations, IT costs, membership costs. Any surplus can be used to support local causes, whether it be donating tickets to those unable to afford them, food banks or the Family Zone and other initiatives from Sky Blues in the Community.

I appreciate that it's hard to get such things off the ground, but if you could engage with the regional supporters clubs that could give you a good start. I know there are popular groups in Leamington/Warwick, London, Bedworth, Southam. I presume there is one in the actual city too plus others dotted about. These groups have a strong engaged membership and if their enthusiasm can be focused on creating a singular unified voice, there is a chance of having true indisputable fan representation that should be listened to by the Club, the Council and the EFL.

True hilarity really isn't it. We need to invest in land to develop a new stadium, land which is owned by the council. The council openly say they want us at the Ricoh, rubbishing the idea of a new ground. Of course they won't sell us land to do so. Until the public eye turns to criticise the council. Then they'll backtrack again, and sell us land. But then magically discover a rare breed of earthworm actually lives in the soil on that land and so it's not feasibly possible to grant us planning permission. Endless cycle of being shafted by the council really

There is still no need for the random digs and opinions, it shows in the differences of tone. They just need to either go at them all or keep it to the point. What's the point in the bit about them thinking we don't need a new stadium and that we should be at the Ricoh under Wasps?

After all of the "urging", will it be followed up with anything or is that it? This is why the Trust need to communicate with the members / fans. It's pointless whinging that SISU don't listen and engage with the fans while they don't bother either.

As i've said i highly doubt that a new stadium will be built, it could just be SISU trying to buy time waiting for their appeal, but anyone that is actively against a new stadium, you have to question motives... i for one would happily move into a new place.

We therefore feel strongly that it is time to stop the "blame game" and get on with the business of saving OUR club.
We welcome SISU's willingness to withdraw their legal action although their conditions are far from straightforward.
We don’t believe that a new stadium is either needed or feasible. After six years of rhetoric about such a stadium we remain sceptical and believe that all parties should focus on a return to the Ricoh with CCFC working in partnership with Wasps.
However if that's their intention we would urge SISU to keep their word and to work with the Council and Wasps to bring this to fruition.
We therefore urge SISU to show they mean business by starting the process of withdrawing the legals.
Similarly we urge Wasps to show they mean business by sitting round the table to discuss a short term deal whilst the new proposed stadium is being constructed.
After all what do they have to lose by agreeing a deal in principle conditional upon the legals being dropped.
We also urge Coventry City Council to work with SISU in finding them suitable land, if available, in line with the local plan within Coventry and to assist with the planning process.
We now call for all those involved to cease the stubborn refusal to cooperate and urge all parties to set aside their historic antipathies and work together on a long term solution for the club and its long suffering supporters.

I really can't believe they are serious about it, not unless they can get a deal that involves them owning a very valuable asset for virtually no outlay. My main concern about building a new stadium would be whether a city this size could provide a second arena with enough revenue to help the club be self-sufficient. I wonder what else would go on the site to make it viable, Coventry Blaze could maybe do with a larger home but otherwise we're presumably looking at retail and hotels if it's suitably located?

Yes of course it needs to be questioned. It hasn't been though, it has just been straight up ruled out as not feasible and not needed.

I can see why the council are fearful of the Wasps/Ricoh project failing, the Ricoh is a key part of the city now. Personally, and i'm basing this on 0 research, I am skeptical about a new stadium/arena being viable. However I am not in a position to realistically make that prediction and ideally those that are will actually give it the consideration it needs.

Of course, Wasps won't want another stadium to ever happen as they lose CCFC for good and maybe some events. The council won't want that as they have gone all in with Wasps.

That's why I am pretty sure SISU are using that as a negotiation tactic along with the legals now. They aren't going to drop them before going into a meeting, however once in the meeting they will probably be used as "oh well I am sure we can stay at the Ricoh if we get x and y" type thing.
