Paying hush money isn’t a crime in America. It’s the manor in which he paid it is the issue and then subsequently the manor in which he tried to cover it up. Turns out it wasn’t just the one occasion but three separate occasions (3 people he paid hush money too) and the same alleged crimes committed on all three occasions.
