I know a UK citizen who was held for 18 months in Hungarian jails then a further 18 months under house arrest without being formally charged.

He pointed out if they were that serious about Tate the first thing they would have done is send in the tax office commandos who have much greater powers than the police particularly as his main sources of income involve cash - the casinos and the online stuff.

Just checked and I can confirm that Romania’s National Agency for Fiscal Administration AKA tax office commandos are involved in the investigation and have used their powers to seize $4M worth of property.
