Chips and ketchup all over the shop for the opening goal in the playoff final... and the remainder for the second. Not mine... my pals behind. Ketchup stains all over my flag and backpack. Scenes.

I like the fact that everyone goes mental when we celebrate but hate the throwing of beer! Probably people who have already had a skin full and can’t handle it.

I still can't see it, why don't people throw their phones and other objects?

They do. I’ve had a phone hit me on the head before.

I was in Lens in the Stadium for the Wales game - the beer in the ground was 0.5% UEFA Approved Carlsberg, so was well worth chucking in the air!!

Uefa have announced (today I think) that they will allow the sale of full strength stuff in grounds now.

So I don't bore you with a really long reply outlining all the terms and conditions.

Now: I'm in the Travel Club, pay £65 every two years and then you enter the ballot for tickets. You build up points (caps) the more games you go, which gives you more chance/opportunity of getting tickets and so on. Since joining I've done Germany, Amsterdam and Glasgow through the club.
You have to have ID/your membership card to collect tickets and they won't post them out in advance - so your chances of getting tickets in the England end are low, unless you find someone out there who has travelled all that way and doesn't want to go to the game. For Tournaments though, they post the group stage tickets out in advance, so if you wanted to see England at Euro 2020, you would have a better chance of getting to see them at the group stages. Knockout round tickets and it's back to collection with ID....

Pre-Euros/Euros: was lucky enough to work with someone who went on England away for a weekend on the piss with his mates, which was brilliant for Berlin, where he didn't go to the game! For the Russia/Wales games, they were tournament group stage games, and he was on holiday when they were being played, so he applied for them for myself and someone else and they were posted out in advance. Was fine getting into the ground even though they had his name and fan number on - with 10k people trying to get into an away end they didn't have time to check.

If I was you, I'd join the travel club. I started in 2016 with 0 caps and still managed to get tickets for Scotland, Dortmund and Amsterdam away, so you've got a chance of building points up and getting decent away tickets!! Buy tickets for the home games, get a fiver off, and just flog them online and build your caps up. I've only seen England at Wembley once! You won't regret it.

Agree with that. Apart from the last bit of course. You never know when/where head teacher is watching! Join. It’s the best hobby in the world. Can be as cheap or as expensive as you want to make it too. Just remember the rules.
1. Don’t be part of the “who do you follow?” crowd. If anyone asks me on an away trip I just say England. Don’t pack your club shirt or sing your club songs too.
2. Respect the locals. Take your glasses back to the bar, learn a few words of the language, don’t trash the City, stand quietly during their anthem etc.
3. Never think you are on your own. Even if it starts that way when you arrive at the airport, there will always be a chair you are welcome to sit on at a table, a spare bed/floor in a random fan’s room or a 20€ note from a complete stranger if your wallet goes walkies.

There was a thread on the England forum a while back on this. Once guy said the only guidelines or advice he was told when he joined in the early days was “take a coat and don’t get bummed!”

Not sure if this is a public profile or not but just an example of what could happen...Shouldn't even need to show this as a warning, think it's obvious what a glass projectile can do if it hits a face!

It's just people "having fun". The same as bellends at MK Dons who were throwing stuff down from the top into their own fans. "banter".

Twats.

They’re worse than that. Same goes for the individuals that were doing it as soon as we walked into the ground at Brighton.

It’s just a fad that has come into play. Hopefully the next one that replaces it will be less anti-social and idiotic.

It's fake, done for effect and social media like everything else.

Celebrating a goal against tin pot opposition in the group stage of a World Cup is put on

It's now the 'in' thing to do, mostly amongst plastic fans who never actually go to actual games.

I can tell you for fact. Having a piss at Perth Casino, sees you 500 people down the reentry cue. Not worth it.

Met some folk from Tile Hile and Camp down. Totally worth it

Raged me that the commentator used a term that makes no sense grammatically

Thing is though, language is changing and evolving at all times like it always has. Things will never be like they used to, and we're all the better for it. Maybe.

It's all too easy lobbing a few dregs away when you're a TV England fan celebrating a world cup goal.....

It's far more hardcore when it's 6.50 a pint and you're 2-0 down at half time.....
