Sky Blues boss Andy Thorn expressed his delight over Coventry City's performance during the 8-0 win over Hinckley United as they prepare for the 2012/13 League One season.
Will Roberts grabbed a brace with Gary McSheffrey, Louis Garner, Roy O'Donovan, Shaun Jeffers, Aaron Phillips and Jordan Willis all getting themselves on the scoresheet in a brilliant pre-season performance.
The City boss was extremely happy with his debutants performing well and also expressed a desire to add even further to his squad.
Thorn said: "I was really happy with the way we went about ourselves today. It was professional and it was important we came through that test. It is difficult to score eight in any game so really happy.
"Get to see the new lads out there doing well and I am really happy for them as they seem settled in the side already. There is a real good buzz in that dressing room at the moment and long may that continue.
"We are trying to get a spine to the team with a mixture of experience and youth. We are desperate at bringing in a couple of strikers as well.
"There is a chance we could get a couple in through the door which I'm pleased about. I think we have done some really good business so far and we will continue to do that."
Stephen Elliott was brought off during the second half with a shoulder knock which was the only down point of an impressive afternoon.
Thorn went on to say it doesn't matter about the result but more important to get the players playing as a unit ahead of the new season.
He added: "The score line is great to see but it really is all about the fitness and the attitude the players begin to develop over this extremely important period.
"We want to make sure the fitness is right which is why we got them back in a week early and that sharpness will continue to develop.
"I thought the development players were brilliant today as well which shows how the club is doing at continuing to produce talent.
"The new lads will continue to work with the team and get a better understanding of how we play but it is nice to see how they are buying into that.
"We move on to Scotland now and lets hope we can produce a few more performances like that."
