technically yes, in reality no. They don't pay us for an hour in the middle of the day :ROFLMAO:

All that would happen is you'd have an hours more work to do at the end of the day. One guy who started here finished on time every day and got dragged into a meeting to be given a bollocking for not being a team player.

You will not be surprised to hear there's a policy of not paying overtime or giving TOIL as 'its already factored in'.

I've worked long enough to have worked at pretty much every type of business. The difference in how the workforce is treated at SMEs compared to larger companies is very noticeable. Not a coincidence that those companies don't tend to have union representation.

You need to stand up for yourself. Do what you're paid to do. If you allow them to take an inch then they'll take a mile. You work to live not the other way round. Plenty of other jobs out there too. I will never understand why people allow themselves to be walked all over. If you get full sick pay, I'd be straight on that with stress, sit at home for 6 months while you relax and look for another job.

My dentist does out of hours appointments, which are near impossible to get due to demand. Manged to get one this morning to get a tooth ripped out.

Person in before me (at 7am) was a pensioner just having a regular check up. Why not go when everyone else is at work???
