Vapes, vapers and vaping.
E-scooters
Abroad currently and saw a sign which stated - in a town today vapes and smoking banned in a public place ie the Main Street - however allowed on a back street - in a private garden or in car park (open )

Was on Southampton Station yesterday many signs saying no smoking or vapes .Many people were just doing it.No one asking them to stop despite plenty of staff on duty.

In general people who have no awareness. Trolleys across the aisle while they stand there chatting. People who stand and have a chat completely blocking the way.
People who are walking be it on a pavement or in a shop or airport and then they just stop where they are without looking if anyone is walking behind them.

Also, really gets my goat at the moment…
Young people of the TikTok generation who use the word ‘manifest’ or ‘manifesting’ in its new/current/wrong definition.

IT DOESNT MEAN WHAT YOU THINK IT DOES, STOP TRYING TO SOUND COOL/CLEVER.

My theory is someone famous or internet famous used it once incorrectly (to say they’re imagining something becoming reality) and everyone has now jumped on it as the norm.

No, it’s a list or to show/make something clear.

Vets bills. Our dog has an intermittent cough like he's trying to clear his throat & it only seems to happen in spring & summer, started last year & has come back this year. He seems to be perfectly fine apart from his cough, is full of energy and not off his food. Last year he had 6 or 7 x-rays which showed nothing & this year the vet thinks they should do a ct scan & some other tests including putting a probe down into his lungs which will cost us £4k and again may show nothing but if it does & he needs any additional surgery we could be looking at another £4k+. He is insured but it wouldn't fully cover the initial scan. We don't know what to do especially if like last year the cough disappears in the autumn 🤔

Sounds like Kennel Cough. Its the Dog version of our broncitus.Just need some medicine and should clear up.

Edit : Try a different Vet to get a 2nd opinion Your current one could be trying to do you over..

We've had a previous dog that had kennel cough & it is nothing like that & has already been ruled out by the vets, it is like he is trying to clear his throat. We are already onto our 2nd vet!

When my dog got it it sounded like he was trying to clear his throat. Maybe depends on the severity of it?

Def worth a 2nd opinion IMO.

Edit : 3rd opinion?

Our previous dog caught it twice, once as a result of having the kennel cough vaccine & then she caught it again when she was in kennels for a few days. 3 visits to the vet to try & make her immune from something she caught twice!

On a similar(ish!) note: newborn colic. Gah it’s a nightmare.

Another thing in the UK that is completely broken.

We have two dogs and travel with them regularly. The cost of the vets in the UK is astounding. For the same process in the UK that cost about £100, we recently went to the vet in Czech who gave us the medication and signed the passport. Charged us the equivalent of £4.

There was an investigation into what is happening in the UK by a watchdog, but I am not sure where that's at. It is very clear it's a huge multi-level sales scheme with unnecessary treatments that cost a lot of money being pushed on emotional pet owners. I lost a lot of trust in recent years.

Really feel for you on that one, our little guy had it for 6 weeks and it drove us near the point of insanity. He eventually got out of it after we started giving him probiotic drops to help his gut.

Applying for jobs where you see literally over 1000 people have applied for one position. It’s just taking the piss.

When I first left the army i tried numerous times to join the fire service. The 4th and last time i tried, West Midlands Fire service received upwards of 9000 applications for only 50 positions.

I’m not too concerned at this point and already have a few interviews coming up with the civil service, but when you see those numbers it does feel a bit deflating.

Just got to keep going at it as demoralising as it can seem.

Needy people who don't get the hint that you're not bothered about talking to them -especially when they're talking so OTT intensely about something so utterly mind-numbing like toilets overflowing
No excuse if you're a bloke doing it too

The weather where I live either being very hot and sunny or very dull and wet, nothing in between. Now into 6 months at least of the latter.

Can tell it's definitely the end of summer now - nights getting darker earlier (no doubt we'll have scaremongering in the press about the "snow bombs" etc soon plus them telling us how to dress & behave in winter etc)

Gimps who carry massive over-sized umbrellas out when it's not even close to looking like raining

The amount of money spent on consultation and design etc to end up with shite like this, before it's even been fitted to trains.
