technically yes, in reality no. They don't pay us for an hour in the middle of the day

All that would happen is you'd have an hours more work to do at the end of the day. One guy who started here finished on time every day and got dragged into a meeting to be given a bollocking for not being a team player.

You will not be surprised to hear there's a policy of not paying overtime or giving TOIL as 'its already factored in'.

I've worked long enough to have worked at pretty much every type of business. The difference in how the workforce is treated at SMEs compared to larger companies is very noticeable. Not a coincidence that those companies don't tend to have union representation.

You need to stand up for yourself. Do what you're paid to do. If you allow them to take an inch then they'll take a mile. You work to live not the other way round. Plenty of other jobs out there too. I will never understand why people allow themselves to be walked all over. If you get full sick pay, I'd be straight on that with stress, sit at home for 6 months while you relax and look for another job.

I’ve never seen that. Why indeed? Bizarre.
I’ve seen it the other way round eg Coventry City 7 (seven) v QPR 1.

My dentist does out of hours appointments, which are near impossible to get due to demand. Manged to get one this morning to get a tooth ripped out.

Person in before me (at 7am) was a pensioner just having a regular check up. Why not go when everyone else is at work???

Always been a gripe of mine with data protection. How can the DVLA just give out my details to a parking company without my consent. No doubt a nice earner for them.

Parking fines are still the wild west despite repeated promises from those in power that there will be reform.

I got one for pulling into a free car park for 14 minutes at 10:30am because 'overnight parking is not allowed', despite there being no mention of any times the car park was closed.

The system is setup so anything other than just paying up is a risk.

I'm a thrice-weekly rail commuter, this morning's train was four carriages (one of them being first class) and utterly rammed.

I will never, ever, ever not get irritated by the shocked reactions people pull when they're asked to move their bags from an empty chair so that someone can sit down.

The practice would soon stop if the ticket checker charged the wankers full fare for the spare seat they're selfishly taking up.
Horrible bastards.

Things in adverts have been annoying me even more than usual recently, such as:

The advert pause. You know, the one that's just, well... condescending?

Poetry in adverts, especially anything that starts 'here's to the...'.

Dentists in adverts. Either you're not a real dentist, so get the fuck off my telly, or you are- in which case stop wasting my time and yours, get back to your practice and start working through the backlog of kids needing basic NHS dentist treatment instead of earning a bit of grubby extra coin on the side.

LinkedIn wankers who preach to others about mental health, being kind, etc., and then act like they're some kind of a demigod and everyone else is shit.

Why are using it in the first place? poetry that is? It's a misnomer when applied to youths, I take it back we've had John CC!

I frequently listen to LBC and there is a dental practice that regularly advertises their services. My immediate thought is, if you're as good as you claim you are, you wouldn't need to advertise and you wouldn't need to charge so much to recover the cost of the advertising.

As I've gotten older, it has become more apparent to me that anyone who is a social media 'whore', or tries to show off particularly on LinkedIn (which seems to be the worst platform for it) are just normally not nice people at all.

'I am open to new work, I have worked in this role for 25 years and have lots of experience, and I am fun to work with'.

Translation = I had a cosy job where I bossed people around and bullied new recruits, I could do what I want, but now due to restructuring I have to move on. I have no other life experience, but please hire me. I am desperate.

Ill tell you what annoys me lately, watching wildlife programmes. I love them, dont get me wrong. But now, you just feel like its a lecture on how I'M killing the polar bears rather than an educational film.

Then, after lecturing you for an hour about how its all YOUR FAULT the ice caps are melting they give you a 15 min, behind the scenes look in to how they made the film. Including logistics and the dozen or so 2 stroke engine snowmobiles they used, and the 6 3litre Toyota Hilux, or the 3 choppers they moved around in daily, or the 2 sea planes they privately hired for 6 months, or the huge, diesel chugging ship they rented. Im sorry, but ive not had the private use of 3 choppers for 6 months. Yet I'M the one to blame for global warming? Fuck you Attenborough!

You're not killing the polar bears. Whilst exact numbers are disputed, the global population recovered from 6,000 in the late sixties to 26,000 today, on the back of an international ban on hunting enacted in 1976. Who'd have thought that one of the simplest and most effective conservation measures is for us to stop killing what we're trying to conserve. Whales are another very good example of this.

I'd go further, any dog owner who keeps their dog off the lead.

So many times I drive down a road like the a45 and there's people walking their dogs off lead on the pavement. Don't care how well behaved they are, only needs to be spooked once and you've got a big problem.

I was running and this dog actually went for me for me. The owner did next to nothing apart from calling it. It happened a second time, and she didn't bother to do anything apart from call it again - obviously, I wasn't very polite to her.

Took baby out for a walk in the pram last week to get him to sleep. Had been going for about 45 minutes, little guy was fast asleep…then two dogs come running around barking and he wakes up immediately. Owners go ‘oh he isn’t a happy boy is he’, no shit Sherlock.

Avanti West Coast, the sooner they take the railway franchise off them the better, I have been delayed 3 times this season going home after a game & today delayed by 45 minutes & only got to CBS at 12:15. Train back to Glasgow already delayed by 20 minutes

Flights can be hit & miss with sometimes no flights back same day, sometimes we have flown from Glasgow & then back to Edinburgh. Easyjet fuck around with the schedule throughout the year.

One thing what annoys me and it shouldn't because I couldn't give a fuck about the clubs but these so called fans of the big clubs like spurs, man utd and west ham having protests about owners like they haven't spent massive amounts of money still in the top flight (for now west ham) like there clubs gonna fold tomorrow or something all because they losing more games than they win. Granted the recruitment may have been shocking or what ever,
I'm not trying to be bias or anything but look where we have been and was before the climb up, we were taken out of our place, asset striped etc like close to folding in league 2.
Maybe I'm just seeing it from my side of it and I probably don't make any sense.
Just annoys me.

That number on the glass doesn't correspond with the address given, not that it's important.
And with the shot of the camera it's does seem to cast a shadow and most of the street scene is obscured from view with vans, but you simply don't know if anything is fake or real, well I don't.

Nearly missed kick off on Saturday when I turned up to my pre-booked parking to find half the car park a building site. The poor girl working there was getting a lot of grief from other people in the same situation who were being diverted to another car park that was a) further away and b) involved sitting in a huge queue of traffic.

This morning had an email from the parking company saying the problem was caused by people who had been informed the car park was at reduced capacity and that they had been moved elsewhere deciding to turn up to the usual place and park there anyway.

Just one more example of people being selfish pricks who think they are more important than everyone else.

I always feel so sorry for whoever ends up at the coalface dealing on the ground with rightfully frustrated people, they're invariably not involved with whatever led to the situation and unable to provide direct help.
