Dog owners who go to the trouble of bagging up their dog's cack only to then leave. It in a tree, by a bench or on the path
Why bother ? Better not to bag it up at all than do that , surely ?

This.

Went to the Brecon Beacons last year and took the dog and there were signs everywhere on farms saying how their cows were having to be put down as they were eating the bags full of dog shit which were intern getting stuck in their stomachs and causing loads of problems.

As you say, surely the lesser of the two evils is just don’t pick it up at all?

I get the point, Tommy, but I think you have to fairly pedantic these days to insist that twenty-twenty is in the twenty-teens. Were you the only one celebrating the birth of the new millennium in 2001?

Yep, that’s me!

A decade is ten years in my book.
A millennium is a thousand.

So your argument is over a potentially fictitious event that happened over 2000 years ago (i.e. the BC/AD transition). If it did happen, he was 0 when he was born, so calling it 1AD was probably a mistake!

Really my argument is about correct counting from whichever starting point we choose as a convention.

I’m with you on the fictitious event and always prefer the scientific BP rather than BC when dealing with the deep past. I’ve never recovered from the trauma of the film ‘One Million Years BC’ let alone the sexual frustration of Raquel Welch in a loin cloth.

Farm near me where I walk my dog has a sign saying just leave it and don’t bag it for the same reason.

What has changed about the bread that now makes it halal? Or is it just that the bread has always been halal and they have just had it officially certified? How does it override your own personal religious beliefs?

Bread companies can use a chemical that's derived from pork which can make dough prove quicker and speed up productivity.

Interesting. Did not know that. Is there an alternative that they are now using?

Could be something in production method or some in the ingredients that contains animal products. Don't really see any difference to labelling something suitable for vegetarians. Like those people outraged at Greggs having a vegan option, if you don't want it don't buy it.

I'm not sure. I only read that today myself.

Maybe they saw a gap in the market for halal consumers and that increased revenue offset the money lost through slower production.

Quick google says Kingsmill has been certified halal since January 2012 so this is an absolute non-story which people are getting worked up about.

the label also says "suitable for home freezing".

It’s always been. It’s just on there as a guide so Muslims know they can eat it. There is a kosher symbol on too but no-one seems to be outraged about that.

Warburtons didn't make their bread Halal for any other reason than to make money and as long as it doesn't compromise on taste no one should really give a fuck.

Are some people getting confused with the halal killing of chickens and anything labelled halal?

The issue on Twitter is that some are suggesting that the "Halal tax" is being paid by Warburton's, and that some of that contribution goes towards funding jihads. It is those who *buy* the halal product who can make a contribution, not the manufacturer.
I'm not in favour of the methods used in halal meat production, but i assume bread has no animal products in it.

Hmmm ... i think it has its place, Rich. For those who do not want to marry, this gives them the route to the protections afforded under marriage. There are no protections offered by "common law marriage" which doesn't exist.

Because it’s fashionable to be ‘outraged’ about Islam.

Why would anyone be outraged by a Kosher symbol though? Have sections of the Jewish community commited heinous sex crimes against children or acts of terrorism on British soil?

The comparison is utterly flawed.
