I personally think wasps would be happy to sell half the Ricoh to a Billionaire investor in ccfc. They would presumably want an instant return on their investment though and wouldn't sell it for 2.77mill. half of the ricoh with premiership wasps and premiership coventry city is worth significantly more imo than the whole ricoh currently and it's significantly less risk for wasps. It would be a win win. The naming rights for the stadium alone would increase by an order of magnitude imo, then there is the hundreds of thousands of extra people visiting the arena each year.

Of course this is almost certainly just a fantasy and there is no white knight.

I'd say the worst case scenario is we go out of business. If a billionaire threw money at us it could get to that once they've got bored. But then, I can see that happening anyway in the not too distant future.

I'd suggest any liquidation threat is far greater under present circumstances than it would be under that worst case scenario. The vast majority of clubs that go into admin are purchased and come out the other side and there would be no reason to believe we'd be any different. Currently though we have a vindictive owner, not one that just wants to leave.

Thank goodness. For a second there I thought we might lose our club's saviours.

The carrot for any prospective owner was always that they could get the Ricoh as well as the club, without that prospect we are an even less attractive prospect for any takeover.

Its been suggested on here that it could be damaging long term but if done properly, it could set the club long term for a bright future for the next 20-30 years.

they don't sell at the bottom of a cycle, he of course doesn't seem to have looked at the league table and seen that there is plenty of room for us to continue the downward trend that he and his soulless cohorts have masterminded

Again, why is any notice being taken of what TF says. Like anything it's not for sale until we get any sort of decent offer.

I think at Torch put it (before it got personal between those two) that we are a club in name only, no real assets on and off the pitch. The only hope is that they see potential in the local area similar to what the annoying insects did and try to exploit it. If you were looking to invest at Bristol city or cov, its a no brainer......unfortunately for us.

I've just looked at the teams involved again... Bristol City and MK Dons! I don't think you'd get either for £5 mil, especially MK!

MMM did tell me to "fuck off", fair enough I guess, so if anyone derailed the thread....

Anyway, back to the story. This is why I always wanted SISU - or whoever happened to own - to buy into the Ricoh. We had something tangible for potential investors to get their hands on then. With Wasps on the scene we have nothing. THe only other way forward would be for our billionaire to buy us, fuck off SISU, and then build the new stadium himself.

Agree with that. Both have pretty good stadia and a captive audience.

City are currently doing up their stadium and I thought I remembered a take over or investment quite recently? MK have a great stadium which is owned by them. That, in itself, would make the club worth slightly more than £5mil I'd suspect!

Watched the Bristol v West Ham cup-tie and Ashton Gate is having a decent makeover funded according to the commentater by a 50 million pound investment from some rich local businessman. Made me think why didn't we do that at Highfield Road, a stand at a time.

For an equal cost it's a no brainer, but the stadium adds it's value to Bristol city and that value will go straight into the cost. If you valued both clubs and sold them at their value without debts attached then CCFC is a really good purchase because improving the value of this club would be extremely easy. Hell the club would improve in value just by sisu selling it and someone else buying it without any changes.

Any sort of change from the status Quo would be welcomed, what could be worse really ? Sadly though, I expect that Wasps having grabbed the Ricoh will have nobbled our chances !

You might be right Ashdown, but we all need "A Reason for Living" We keep hearing "Again and Again" from "Baby Boy" Fisher that they got things wrong "And It's Better Now" He seems to be supported "All Through the Night" by the "Blue Eyed Lady" who seems "Mad About the Boy" but to me he seems like a "Broken Man" and "Can't Give You More" than he does today.I would say "Bye Bye Johnny" as I "Don't Think It Matters" if he floats off to a "Backwater". I know both he and his boss are.... Is it "Caroline"? No No it was the "Little Lady" known as 'No Joy' are feeling "Blue for You" and will try to "Ease Your Mind" by trying to make you believe that things will be "Fine Fine Fine" and that they are "Getting Better". Only a few months ago she said that there "Is There a Better Way" but "Just Take Me" at my word I am "Gonna Teach You to Love Me" . Since then we have had a "Hard Time", the team have seemingly gone "Down Down" and the fans seem to be "Drifting Away" and that's "That's a Fact". So "What to Do"?

Well "Most of the Time" as a fans group we "Roll Over Lay Down" saying "I'm Giving Up My Worryin'" as too much "Rain" and "Dirty Water" has gone under the bridge and we are "Too Far Gone". But we need a "Ring of a Change" I for one need too see owners who are not singing a "Mystery Song" but who are prepared to understand "Where I Am" to recognise "Who Am I" to say hey! "I Saw the Light" we need you back so that we talk about CCFC again and say "Oh, What a Night" at the RICOH. where the fans came "Rolling Home" and we were Sky Blues "Rockers Rollin'" "Rockin' All Over the World" A world of Sky blue.

OK I'm leaving!

Losing the argument - that's the cause of the frustration. Like the other day when you were still harping on about SISU 'bidding' more than Wasps and you got pitch-slapped from pillar to post with a tirade of facts and you just ran away. Want me to link it?

Torchy did exactly the same when challenged with regards the buying of the Higgs share; disappears and then comes back on touting exactly the same line, pretending it didn't happen.

I'm sure Fisher shared my frustration when he 'lost' the Judicial Review. Although perhaps he didn't - as according to you, he 'meant to', didn't he?

Its in that bastion of truth and integrity the Sun, they never make anything up.

Though they did write that we have been run badly by our current owners for the last 5 years. Lets see SISU take them to court.

Sisu had their chance but wanted it for nothing.
Bit like the car you want to buy, you tell the seller your interested, you view the car several times, you haggle several times on the price knowing the guy won't sell it to you for the price you offered, and then while your messing around another guy turns up offers the seller what he wants and drives off in the car.. Leaving you bitter and twisted and with your pants round your ankles..like sisu

A bit like that, except he calls you back and says that actually I'm not going to sell the car for a year or two so let's talk about it later. Then next week he flogs it to some bloke from London.

Where this leaves your trousers I'm not quite sure, I generally leave them on when I'm buying a car personally. However it could be that you will find your either your pants round your ankles, or your knickers in a twist depending on how it goes. As it goes I've currently got my shoulder to the wheel and my nose to the grindstone, so I'll have to leave that to you.

Unsure why Bristol City are mentioned they already have a very wealthy backer in place already so would not come cheap, we are a sleeping giant and a money maker in the making for the right backer, especially if they had a decent sized pot to put things back into place that are not repairable whilst SISU are here.

Fisher will say all he wants, if SISUs investors were offered a good whack with a view to stop ploughing dead money at us, then they would be stupid not to cut their losses.

Why would investors want to buy ccfc though?
