If it was just coventrians you wouldn’t have a problem. Plenty of tickets cos only 0.00000001% are interested. Unless it’s Wembley of course.

Isn't that the point though? Makes it less of a lottery and staggers it. Those with more points get first dibs then it filters down. Honestly, you'll be fine on Thursday and over the course of the season I doubt there are many games you'll miss out on, if any. Before you know it the kids will have enough points to be in the higher tier anyway. The big positive for you here is that people can only buy if they are in that tier - there's no-one buying for their mate for a once a season big day out, which is what caused the most issues previously.

It's more the way this one has been staggered. 1200, 1100, 1000, ST this year, everyone else. The bands just seem a bit odd with the first few groups really close together then a massive gap.

Don’t get this tit for tat nonsense.

Give them 6k and say thank you for the money and the 3 points. Sunderland’s travelling support, whilst impressive in size, is pitiful in terms of noise. It would make very little difference if they had 1.5k or 6k.

Because we should stand up for our ourselves. Other clubs (Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth) wouldn't stand for it. They shouldn't be able to arbitrarily and consistently contravene league rules without reproach because weak clubs like ours just take it on the chin every time.

But but the money - it isn't that much really. Difference between 4k and 1.5K (why do City fans talk of 6K allocations at the Ricoh, nobody has ever had that, certainly not now with the maximum cap set at 4K), when you take into account concessions, take off VAT and then factor in the much reduced policing bill, it isn't much of a sacrifice at all to preserve some self-respect.

You'd hope the club have an idea of how many are in each group and therefore there's a reason its been done like that rather than them randomly picking numbers out of thin air.

Seems to be working rather well. Think back to games last season like Fulham, Blues, Albion and Stoke; unless you were on at 10am refreshing like a lunatic you would miss out.

None of that nonsense now; 500 yesterday, same today I'd imagine, selling out as we go through the week - and all geared around priority based on loyalty. System can be tweaked of course, but have to say, well done to the club.

I also look forward to a few weeks time when all those screaming on Twitter that they'll "never get to an away game again" fall silent when it is announced we haven't sold our allocation for Millwall.

Surely if a group of people want to go and you don't want to buy unless everyone can go you wait until the sales window that covers the person with the lowest points total. If you start saying families or groups can all book with the person with the most points we'll be back to people abusing the system and passing tickets on to their mates.

Of course its not perfect and I'm sure Pete can pass on constructive criticism or suggestions on how to improve things but I'm not sure they'll take on board things designed to change the rules to suit individuals personal circumstances.

Technically probably not possible, but surely the answer is an average of the group?

no one was screaming for change last season apart from being miffed that certain groups got special treatment

the points scheme is fucking weirdly done, most clubs look at away loyalty in away tickets schemes but I have more points than people who brought far more away tickets than me

It's badly thought out, badly created and will be different by next season

I agree with most of that and I was in favour
of a system as like you say it was a joke last season at times. My issue is that there should be more of a points breakdown until general sale. I’m on 960 points and could likely miss out to someone on 0 points. They should have introduced 2 or 3 more points brackets. I’m hoping that the reason they didn’t is due to how late the tickets went on sale.

On another note I never get why we don’t take a big following to Millwall, it’s one of my favourite away games. Very easy to get to by train and great food & beer around London Bridge before and after the game. It’s also probably the safest game for those afraid of Millwalls past reputation. You literally get of the tube and walk down a fenced walkway straight into the away stand.

It will be changed a bit, probably does need to have extra weight for away games, agree with that. I was in favour of it though, it did become a scrum at times last season and sales needed to be staggered.

While i agree with what your saying about having more of a gradual breakdown. It wouldn't be anyone with 0 points, its at least Season Ticket holders this year so 230 points minimum. But yes over all seems mental that it goes down in 100s then 230-1000. the last thousand should be at least broke down in to 250s. I think its probably due to how late these have gone on sale and not having the time to stagger it further so hopefully will improve throughout the season regardless of capacity.

surely it should be run if there is a points scheme similar to how utd runs or ran theirs.

people who go to less popular away games get higher priority for the more sort after away tickets

at the moment I am likely to get the chance to buy away tickets before some people who go far more away games

It's going well aside from the fact people can't make travel plans until Friday, or even possibly Monday just under a week to go.

Granted, Sunderland sent them late, but the club should split the windows into half days. They could have easily had them on season ticket sale this morning and general tomorrow. Do people really need priority sale time of 24hrs?

I still think we'll average a fair bit less away this season and partly down to the system.

I can't see us taking 4k to Blackburn if groups of lads can't get tickets at the same time etc.

Who are Utd? If so, you have zero chance of going to an away game at any of the top 6 (probably more) sides without having had a ST for years and years and built up points from going to away games. Fairly sure we get extra points for midweek away games which is exactly what you have asked for.

Bit of a fallacy this. Supporters groups didn't get special treatment, they just pooled their season tickets to buy as a group. Because they were able to get 2 tickets, sometimes 4, per season ticket it meant that they could buy early for anyone in their group that wanted to go. Restricting to 1 per season ticket (if this is going to be the same for all games) will actually be the change that makes the biggest difference.

This is the actual issue people were moaning about last season, how shit this etickets platform is.

Sign in, add two tickets and assign to myself and mate both over 1100 points and then proceed to check out.

On the phone i get this error;

But i do it on the PC and it works with no issues.

Luckily i work at a PC and can do this but it will fuck everyone who doesn't over. Time and time again last season people reported issues with the platform and Boddy coms out and tells us its world leading

Games like Blackburn, Preston, Wigan - they shouldn't fuck about - just get them straight on sale to ST holders. Same for most midweek games and low demand games like Swansea and Boro. As long at they keep the system just for the high demand games, it'll all settle down and people will buy into it.

Manchester United and yes as you say you need to have been to lots of away games to get the best tickets. At the moment I went to 4 aways last season and I have higher points than people who went to many more than me. The historic points needed to be more away game weighted

I mean, it's Ticketmaster, so they are technically world leading. The problem we'll have is that we are small fry to them so will have very little leverage. Always well down the priority list.

Anyone else seen similar issues?

Got a link? Thought it was explained that they pooled their tickets to allow them to buy for those 'less regular'. I may be misremembering though.

Yeah but we pay for a half baked version of TM, I go to a lot of gigs most of them through TM and the experience using their proper site is total different than this shite. Like you say we are nothing to them so theres no incentive for improvement.

Thats a fallacy, Supporters groups are guaranteed tickets for their ST members. If they had 30 phase 1 STs they had the option of getting 30 away tickets before the rest of Phase 1 had to fight it out on Ticketmaster come sale time. That is literally special treatment.
