Transfer Rumour Summer Transfer Window 2026 (17 Viewers)

Well yes you would hope as he cost a fortune and seems to be well recognised in the broader football world as a talent. I want to be seeing some of that talent this season though, not just tearing up Charlton, Preston and co next season.

Not sure he did cost a fortune.
For us, who not that long ago were delighted with signing Zain Westbrooke for 25k it seems a fortune, but in the current market its nothing remarkable.

Championship sides, Derby County and Burnley have explored the possibility of potentially signing Coventry City Left-back Jake Bidwell on loan.

Signed a pre contract for him so they can loan him to Palace as Palace already have a Chelsea loan. So he is classed as a loan from Atalanta.
worse than that, rules say you can not loan hm to another PL in the same window you brought him so it's not just the amount of loans rule, it's a this rule as well.

Is it judging to say we need a better LW Back up than BTA and some experience in midfield?
Fair points Sparks. LW I'm actually not worried as I personally see Hadji as a better left sided forward vs. centre. And Cherif from what I hear is ok to play there as well. CM we have experience in Hamer, Onyeka (but he should never play 10 again) and Grimes. The question there is if Onyeka, Grimes have the pace required at this level.

So what are we looking at?

Rushworth/Bentley/Wilson
MvE/KKH
Pinnock/Amenda/Mfuni*/Thomas
Bard/Dasilva
Onyeka/Grimes/Yirenkyi*/Torp
Rudoni/Hamer
EMC
Tchaouna/Sakamoto
Awoniyi/Cherif*/Wright/BTA

21+3 U21

Seems very light.

Bard 🤣

Lampard clearly sees Wright better down the middle.

Brentford have just signed malik diouf LB from Westham a couple of days ago. They already play lewis potter there.

Rico Henry needs a new club why aren't we going after him. We seem to have a decent relationship with Brentford use it.

I don't want us to regret not making any moves in a months time as injuries always happen. We have signed a player in every position apart from LB and LW I just can't see frank being happy committing to a new contract then being happy with JDS at LB and not giving it a good go.

I'm not saying every player has to be 20M use the loan market there has to be a few players out of favour at certain clubs willing to potentially raise their stock playing with us in the prem.

I think Mfuni is the cover at LB, and on LW there are options to play Cherif, Wright and even Hamer played there for Sheffield United but I agree it would have been better to get a specialist LB and/or LW signing to really push us on

Onyeka has played 75 at this level

Let's face it... the hierarchy have splurged this summer but have the realisation that relegation is more likely. Hence keept hold of squad players rather then go gun-ho. See if there is any madness in the last few hours with incomings/outgoings but agree with alot of the above. Simms should of got a new contract or sold, Eccles won't touch the field this year so get rid, grimes should of been kept but as a starter should of been replaced. We just got to use what we have at the end of the day...

We need a back up LW yes but that isn't going be what defines if we go up or down.

Also Lampard isn't stupid, Austin isn't Stupid and King isn't stupid and is the current system isn't working it will change. Remember that came in and try to play one way and it didn't work so set us up to stink out wins and we ended up in the play offs even though the usual suspects were talking of our impending relegation.

We will probably get relegated this year, so will Hull and Ipswich.

Hull will not be able to keep winning games, Ipswich unlessthey seriously fix their defence could be in big trouble as well.

Getting rid of Markelo does seem a bit odd, he must have been really shite in training.

I've heard good things about mfuni but only played a handful of games in the champ never mind the prem hopefully he rises to the challenge.

I don't mind the squad we have as doug has really invested more than Burnley ever did when they came up. My biggest fear is our tactics I know it's only been 2 games but we look so open and naive. Maybe being stung by hull will open Frank's eyes a little.

Sunderland stopped up effectively becoming hard to break down and grabbing a goal on the counter. If we persist with trying to control the play with less quality players than our opposition I fear we might be on the end of some big results.

I mean he hasn’t invested that much more than burnley

We are 5th on the list in our first season back in the prem. Many of teams on this list would of had a couple years of YoYo so would of had parachute payments etc.

Doug has invested more than we all thought. I feel a few loans from abroad would see us through.

Hull selling their match winner from Saturday further winds me up how inexplicable we were in allowing him to score.

I cant fault the effort particularly with money spent, but we had to spend £30m to get to where we were last year, and there are still some glaring holes in the squad.

Couple that with the dead wood we still hold onto, I think this window could have been a lot better and cant imagine people disagree.

Bissouma and Malacia would be good pick ups.....

Do they want to come to us? If they are free transfers they don't have to be signed buy the end of today.

I guess they'll be getting a few offers once the window is shut.

Some said that last year about our promotion prospects and new players.

We’re 3 pts behind 9th place. 5 teams on Zero points. Inevitable relegation? Nah
