it appears though we are spluttering over the line, with significant points to fill in the squad, whilst everyone else in the league is gearing up for their grand finale.

Doesn't it feel a bit like we are holding what we have until the foodchain of transfers shakes out at the end of the window? We'll be setting up plan Bs and Cs if our punt targets go elsewhere.

I'm not saying Tomori is on the cards but using him as an example if we need to wait untill teams he'd rather join drop out or look elsewhere like Villa, Liverpool and Newcastle we move up the pecking order.. would you rather we settled now or waited to see if we met in the middle or settled for lesser options now?


Same goes for Mudryk, surely it's better to wait until the last minute rather than panic

Heres hoping. Be really disappointing if not the case.

If we are really strapped for cash youd assume we would be maximising our ability to get loans in
 
Left back is the only position we need cover. Not an upgrade. Cover. We have cover all over the pitch except there. Not saying da silva is the best LB in the world but if hes injured itll be Bidwell, who, As much as he is a grade a Pro, will get royally pumped by anyone who can walk fast
 
This is pretty much where we are now. If we add a LB and a LW thats a full 25 man squad plus Yirenkyi and Cherif as u21s.

Are we going to register Wright? Maybe that opens a spot, but likely filled by BTA.
So we dont have much space to bring more than 2 in unless the likes of KKH, Lati, Torp, Eccles are being prepped for the door, and injuries are obviously hampering that.

If Mfuni happens that likely completes our defensive personnel for the first half of the season I suspect. The Holes rumour doesnt really make sense to me unless both Woolf and Lati are on their way and/or just not going to be registered.

Wouldnt shock me if Doug's got to the end of his wallet and the lack of ability to cash in on Simms/Wright/Woolf/other might have killed a LB/LW pursuit. Can call it bad planning if you want, but cant exactly foresee 8 figures of assets being unsellable due to sheer back luck.

If we are signing a LB I want them to be better than JDS, not just better than Bidwell

We’ve got head room but it’s down to Doug how far he wants to push it. Clearly Ipswich are going to hit max and Hull also.

Cherif can play on the left, so this would be cover for EMC I would assume.

We dont know that for sure do we? May well have been planning based on some sales?
Hopefully theres scope for a or 2 more, i'd love to have a starting LB and cover LW if possible.
It also wouldnt surprise me if the businessman in Doug is saying yeah lets have a decent effort but lets also think ahead to relegation and having the assets we can retain for a serious run at the champ title again next season.

I personally dont see a CM happening, im convinced our business there is done, we've got Yirenkyi, Onyeka, Grimes, Rudi, Hamer all already competing for 3 positions. Backup on the left side is so much more important for me now.

I just see that as a risk, i'm not simms' biggest fan by any stretch but hes a better 9 than BTA.
Sounds like Wright could be done til December, just feels risky to be so close to relying on BTA as a starting 9 in this league. I mean i'd rather not rely on Simms to be starting in this league either but im trying not to be beggar and chooser 😅

Still loads of time for that, maybe we'll have targets for loans lined up and move on deadline day depending on any further departures or permanent incomings. You would assume we still hold hope for Mudryk so it would be 2 euro loans

No limit in Premier League you can include all your permitted loans (unlike in Championship/EFL where you are limited to 5).

Ah ok that changes our options then. Work through our main targets and we can backfill if we feel we are short, U21 European talent would be ideal. Surely Frank could pull a few favours from Jose
