Transfer Rumour Summer Transfer Window 2026 (8 Viewers)

wtaf? The more I think about it we won't spend £50m net.

The lowest wage bill in the PL was Wolves on £65m in 2025-6 and I don't see us spending much less. Together with £50m potential investment we'd be in for a lot of money £115m or so. There's my thinking...

Why would our wage bill suddenly shoot up to £65m, especially if we're only spending 50 on transfers.

I expect our wage bill will be the smallest in the league by some margin unless someone unexpected wins the playoffs.

Everyone's wages will double overnight. That's when you realise that there's no money left to spend.

Players nearing the ends of contracts will have to be extended or else they will have to leave. There's quite a few nearing that position I think, maybe in half a season maybe this summer. If they leave they'll be replaced by someone on a full PL contract. There's a lot here that people haven't begun to grasp, which is why I'm labouring the point despite the laughing and the rude comments!

Yes but we're not going to be paying Ellis Simms and Liam Kitching £50k a week are we

Are you actually a cov fan? Or do you want us to get less than derbys points total next season? Very very bizarre.
Explain to me where the money comes from then. What am I missing? I'd be very surprised if the players are not on contracts linked heavily to promotion

I think many players will have promotion clauses in their contracts too. Double could easily be true.

But nobody here knows, so it's not worth arguing over.

It’s Beyond embarrassing now, time to admit defeat and move on. We’ve just been promoted to the premier league and will be getting 120 million plus from prize money, sponsors etc

You could double everyone’s wages overnight and we won’t get anywhere near to the lowest Premier League wage bill of last season.

Also, we won’t be doing that.

Also, some of those players will be out of the door (unfortunately).

Granted we will sign some players on better wages; but we will have the money to do that.

Are you on drugs? We've just been promoted to the Premier League ffs, everyone knows its worth a fortune. No money left to spend 😆
Even Doug couldn't get through enough skiing holidays to get through all that.

The 2025 accounts have the wages at £26.4m for to the year end 2025. I'm guessing that might have touched £30m this season. With promotion bonuses, new players etc we'll be lucky to get in under the Wolves figure. Is that not obvious?

My favourite SBT past time is people basing their whole argument on wild statements anchored in absolutely zero first hand knowledge.
All opinions are valid, sometimes you can end up swimming against the tide, predictive wanted to go with 'Dolphins'!
Maybe we can market our way to success if we adopt it as a name?🫣

I've noticed that Sead Kolasinac at Atalanta (ex arsenal & Marseille centre back) is out of contract in the summer. At 32 would he be a decent acquisition ?

To be clear you want to not spend anything so we can quickly get back to losing x million a year in the championship?

Let's think it through then...

£50m would buy 5 players at £8m and say two at £5m. That seems like a lot to me. Their wages wouldn't be tuppence ha'penny, an £8m player might get £40-50k per week.

Suppose haji and simmo move on and we make say a further £15m profit to revinvest but we'd be in for two strikers.

Nobody has yet explained where £100m investment and the wages comes from on top of what we are committed to and how we fit that within the rules. It all adds up.

If we buy an £8m player we arent going to pay £8m upfront ffs

Please stop, I can’t be agreeing with Thor anymore

So of that bat.

We will gain around 120 million pounds into the club. For context, the net turnover this year was thirty million.

Additionally for the first time in our history we have funds from food, drink, parking, events and everything inbetween from the CBS. If we go down the club would also gain £55 million in parachute payments. The debt is all interest free apart from the mortgage which will have a set paid fee.

Confused on wolves as their wages were £150.4m when I looked online. We can’t go and make up the numbers when the real value of the premiership is staying in it. With parachute payments, the club can afford to go for it imo

Wright cost £8m and he's on half that

You're so out of touch lol

also why are you talking like every player in the squad is getting a 100% wage increase on promotion? Sure there'll be decent bonuses and raises in there, but it won't be anywhere near double.

Im just asking what your plan for a club that doesn’t lose money is if it doesn’t involve us staying up?
