The lowest wage bill in the PL was Wolves on £65m in 2025-6 and I don't see us spending much less. Together with £50m potential investment we'd be in for a lot of money £115m or so. There's my thinking...

Why would our wage bill suddenly shoot up to £65m, especially if we're only spending 50 on transfers.

Players nearing the ends of contracts will have to be extended or else they will have to leave. There's quite a few nearing that position I think, maybe in half a season maybe this summer. If they leave they'll be replaced by someone on a full PL contract. Explain to me where the money comes from then. What am I missing? I'd be very surprised if the players are not on contracts linked heavily to promotion

I think many players will have promotion clauses in their contracts too. Double could easily be true.

But nobody here knows, so it's not worth arguing over.

It’s Beyond embarrassing now, time to admit defeat and move on. We’ve just been promoted to the premier league and will be getting 120 million plus from prize money, sponsors etc

You could double everyone’s wages overnight and we won’t get anywhere near to the lowest Premier League wage bill of last season.

Also, we won’t be doing that.

The 2025 accounts have the wages at £26.4m for to the year end 2025. I'm guessing that might have touched £30m this season. With promotion bonuses, new players etc we'll be lucky to get in under the Wolves figure. Is that not obvious?
