Match Thread Southampton FA Cup Match Thread

Setting off from sunny brum. No comments from me about the lad never seeing us lose away like I did before Middlesbrough 😬

How about he’s never seen us lose an away FA cup game…

Just got on the train from Cov with a couple of hundred other Sky Blues.

Whatever people say there’s still something special about the cup, absolutely buzzing

I’d say play Maatsen. I’m going on the assumption they play Walker-Peters, so I’m thinking Maatsen’s pace could be helpful there. Also, Kane, if he’s fit. Rest of the team pretty much picks itself.
Agree. Also I feel Maatsen is the better player anyway

Envious of all you guys off to the south coast today.
I'm in the early days of recovering from my left knee replacement so I can't get around much. I am so lucky, I had my right knee replaced last May given that there are many many people waiting for what I consider to be far more important operations than mine.
Anyway, have a great day all, enjoy the match and cheer us on to a famous victory.

Pretty sure Gary Hoffman or a very good lookalike is in my carriage

Localish lad might be starting for Southampton today, Thierry Small born Solihull nephew of former footballer Brian Small who does coaching, couldn't wait to come and tell me this morning at football training 😂 so proud of him he was

Wishing you a speedy recovery

It’s gonna take a while, the carriage is 99% Cov fans!

Good luck @bad boy. I’m three weeks after ACL reconstruction so hobbling around too. Looking forward to forgetting about it for a couple of hours this afternoon!

Just setting off now.

Meatballs, Gifflar rolls, come on Viktor, do a goal!

Good luck mate.
BTW, you ARE pretty lucky already (as you know). My missus has been waiting for a knee replacement for years (pre-covid) as they reckoned she was 'too young'.
She's nearly 62.
I sometimes wonder about the criteria, as I had a chap working for me years ago who had a knee rep in his late forties and another at 51.
Hmph.

Thanks Kneeza.
In response to your wife being told she was too young, a succession of locum doctors told me that for nearly 20 years. I was almost 68 when I had my right knee replaced last May and less than 9 months later my left knee has been done.
Eternally grateful to the superb medical team and I hope your wife gets hers done very very soon.
All the best to you.

Kidderminster fans wearing half and half scarves on TV v West Ham (noooooooooooo!)

Friends with the Kiddy captain, his girlfriend Laura used to be in my class at school. Hope they win.

Be a good test, round of upsets I think with Man U missing out ti Middlesborough, gonna be a tough open game 3-2 city 90+6th minute Fadz header

Quite busy by the ground now. Bit of a buzz about the place tbf, burger stands and all that. Unfortunately have just seen a family of Coventry fans and the good lady had a half and half scarf on…

Game is available to watch on Ladbrokes
