O’hare a class above there, still have to pinch myself to think we managed to sign him!

Allen did ok in patches, made mistake for their goal but the guy still has to beat two defenders and a keeper... to be fair keeper had no chance as bullit of a shot, but dreadful defending to let him come round them like that and and onto his best foot!

thought Rowe looked good in patches too & godden found some nice space. Like to see godden and Walker together

Once Allen went off we had a little less possession on the ball going forwards. Crucial player for us and will fight for his place with Jones lurking. Not sure Jones can fill that role though. Hilsner of course will need to show us more what he is about in the coming weeks.

J Shipley was awful today. Covers a lot of ground but so does tarmac. Barely touched the ball for a central midfielder.

So good. Apart from conceding a soft goal that was a dominant display where everyone knew their role. OHare MOM for me - super sharp and worked tirelessly. Rowe did well for such a youngster. Shipley did well at DM alongside Hamer, who again was very good. Will there be a better 4 central defenders in the Championship than Hyam, Rose, McFadzean and Ostigard? I would be surprised.
Looking forward to game 2 now, particularly to see Jodi Jones.

Agree, it was poor from Allen but a poor ball in to him, Drysdale didn't get close enough to the scorer either

No he hasn’t! Those front 3 have been linking up very well, especially him and O’Hare. I don’t know what he was doing for their goal, it was poor, but that doesn’t mean he’s had a poor game!

He was clearly knackered and was given a poor ball to deal with. I don't think Shipley showed enough for the centre backs when we had the ball

Really impressed today. We've been a bit wasteful in the final 3rd at times, but lots to be encouraged by. Hamer and O'Hare have been superb.

They were promotion contenders and should be next year but we completely bossed the game

We looked a level above, which we are but I expected the gap to be much smaller... It was rather large
