King said yesterday that even people at the club said it would be taken as it was and it was on him.

It could have been a master stroke in that he knew and would be shown as listening to the fans when changing it but still implementing a rise. Who knows.

I don’t buy the 4D chess narrative at all - it’s an embarrassing climbdown and makes them look incompetent and out of touch. Give credit to Big Doug for cleaning up the mess if you like, but it doesn’t change the fact that he shit the bed first. (And then went on CWR for 20 minutes to claim that bed-shitting was actually a great idea when you think about it etc etc)

Out of interest, would people have been happy with the concession prices if they were the prices offered initially?

Oldest trick in the book, my wife has been doing it to me for years. Everytime she buys something and I ask how much, she tells me the before sale price and then says "but I got it for this" so it sounds better

Oh I'm not sure that is the case. I'm far from blowing smoke either

Just saying that people at the club told him that it wouldn't go down well.

They must’ve identified the concession ticket fiddle being done on a larger scale than we would’ve thought?
They've even made the disabled ‘free assistant’ done on a case by case basis. No more using your nans incapacity benefit to get 2 season tickets

Have they got Fisher back in to write the press releases?

In all seriousness they need to have a huge clampdown on people taking the piss with kids tickets being used by adults. That was obviously the idea behind the initial pricing and pushing the kids to the family zone. Even if it means more staff check tickets before you get in the ground

Pre-covid they used to check your ticket before the turnstile, no reason this can't be done again. Colour code tickets / season ticket cards so it's very easy to tell who is using a concession ticket. As has been said several times easier to not let people in on the wrong ticket than try and kick them out

They can already tell without first checking your ticket

How would the SAG feel about a load of families sitting in the 3 blocks between singers corner and the away fans
It is one of those where I do wonder if having the kids in between the two would calm the situation down + give the kids the excitement of sitting near the signing section.

But I for one would not be willing to try the experiment and potentially put kids in harms way if I was wrong.

Won't this just lead to more season ticket revenue as instead of moving to the JSB section more people will now pay the reduced but still more than the JSB section prices?

Plenty clubs have the family zone next to the away end. It's very common.

Well I don’t mean this as a dig at you or anyone specific, before anyone gets upset. But I can’t help but feel that more effective and more pro-active fan representation might have prevented it from being played out in public like this. That would surely have been a preferable outcome both for the supporters and the club. Saying “Doug wouldn’t listen” presumably isn’t an excuse going forward now we’ve seen him fold within 48 hours…

I don’t think King was short of people telling him this was a bad idea before it launched.

Personally think that is the right decision anyway. Always thought it was a bit mad giving discount to those that generally have the most disposable income.

That would be an issue, but if we make the prem putting them there would free up the rest of the stadium for sale rather than having to knock 2000 off the capacity.
Edit, we are talking about maximising revenue's

Are you getting short term memory loss Perry - I’d see a doctor if I were you

Renew or Not .Move or Not

First might I say feel sorry for families and the moving about or extra money they have to find.Just wondered what most intend to do.Me moving from block last year 21 where I was Johnney no mates because son and grandson can now go on a Saturday. So 3 instead of 1 in our case. One thing they...

Well the fact we just have to kind of assume/hope that someone is arguing our case is kind of my point. A group of our size should have a proper organisation advocating for us, but we don’t.

Coach times confirmed but the disability issue will have a big bearing on whether we renew or not so need a response soonish.

Have you read the fsa stuff? Cloud cuckoo land but a start
If you think Doug is gonna sit down with fans reps and listen to us on this I’m sorry you are much mistaken
Doesn’t mean we don’t get to discuss but it’s not a negotiation more a consultation

Well if that’s our mentality then of course we’ll never get any say.

People (rightly) moan about the club being run like a L2 operation and not being commensurate with our actual status - I’m starting to feel like the same applies to our supporters clubs too.

I’d like to think yours is a bit better but most just want access to the club to take forward their issues and wants
Sorry we don’t meet your mark. Come along next time I’m sure you’d have everyone eating out your hand at your wisdom and assertiveness
