Rushworth (8 Viewers)

It could literally just be as simple as ‘he’s a Championship keeper who looked good in the Championship but isn’t good enough for the Prem’. He would be the first player to be great in the Champ and not cut it in the Prem and isn’t even the only one in the squad who is struggling.

Not sure what the solution is however. We obviously can’t play Bentley or Wilson in the league but we also can’t have Rushworth costing us a goal or two a game every other week.

Him and MvE look shit scared every game. They might not be good enough but we won’t know until they have a proper go.

Never subscribed to the idea that he’s England's future no 1. Equally I think Brighton saw us coming. We paid a massive amount for an untested at this level keeper. We all got sucked up with the feel good factor of signing and keeping him.

Will he come good at this level ? I’m sure he will do. It’s just maybe we could have gone for a cheaper option that was premier league ready to help our survival.

It's clearly a confidence thing. It's not like he's letting in higher quality shots. He's letting in shots that he would've saved comfortably last season

Rushworth showed why he isn't good enough for an international call up.

[SkyBlue_Bear83]

He needs to keep working hard and go back to the fundamentals and basic technique and make sure he's got them right

[AFCCOVENTRY]

Rushworth is absolutely sucked of confidence.

Let alone his positioning on the goals today his kicking was atrocious.

Not sure what the solution is. 2 week break now. We don’t have proper competition for him and we’re not going to drop him for Bentley.

[fingers_crossed]

He’s the worst keeper in the PL and it isn’t even close. Currently at -5.18 goals conceded vs expected, next worst is Roefs at -3.6

[Londonccfcfan]

Were you calling him a c**t last season? He’s not playing well but what a bonkers post.

Single handedly will send us down

Swap keepers and we win that 3-1. Lol its awfull

[Londonccfcfan]

England's no 1!

[gspotgaz]

Worryingly I can’t remember him making barely a decent save so far this season. Every shot seems to go in on target against us. It’s clearly confidence and he’s in his shell but unsure how he gets out of it

Brighton got their revenge for Vik.

Getting desperately close to trying to piece Dovin back together and throwing him in goal

Unfortunately Dovin is in pieces right now

Is he fit ? Back at Orient ?

[robin.starling]

You lot are a really horrible bunch. Rushworth and Grimes were our best players last season............

[Sky Blue Goblin]

Is he fit ? Back at Orient ?

Came back to us following a shoulder injury. No news after that

[Brighton Sky Blue]

He's clearly feeling the pressure and it's causing him to concede the sort of goals he wasn't last season.

It wasn't comfortable watching him try to play out from the back this evening on a wet surface under a press either.

Someone called it, though, the goals going in and the errors made aren't down the the increase in quality, they're due to a lack of confidence and playing poorly.

He looked scared in the first game, and it's not really got better from there.

We all wanted him, but the fee was far too high, and I think it's weighing on him.

[PVA]

It's not lack of ability, we know how good he is.

It's obviously a mental thing.

To me it looks a bit like stage fright. He looks petrified every game.

You know its bad when Paddy Power pile in on social media

I was just saying this to my mate. He looks shell shocked before each game.

He needs to sit it out for a bit and get his head in order. But the competition is Bentley and Wilson.

I despise those exploitative rats. Grubby fucking trade.

[False9]

We're gonna have to throw Bentley in at this rate. Mental really

Why didn't we get an old pro and a 10m overseas keeper? Looks like an obscene waste at this point

[Shannerz]

What was the point in signing Bentley?

[AFCCOVENTRY]

What was the point in signing Bentley?

Give Wilson competition?

[CovveeBreak]

I was frothing at the mouth for Rushworth, but when it felt like it was t happening and we were linked with the Greek lad at hull, thought we were going to land on our feet.

As it happens, it was Hull who landed on their feet

[lowblocklounge]

Quite telling towards the end of the game where Pinnock could have passed it back to Carl as he was being chased down but decided to just smack it out for a throw. Obviously doesn’t have confidence in him right now

[Sky Blue Pete]

Did notice he moved his hand up and down rather than kept it big and strong for the first and third goals hope he watches that back and sees what he can change

Could he have come for the first goal and dealt with the cross?
Same for second?
He’ll be disappointed with the third

[Londonccfcfan]

Maybe there was 1 vs man city if we generous.

[AFCCOVENTRY]

Unfortunately we’re not seeing the same keeper we saw last season and even worse Twitter is full of people outside of us saying he’s awful to watch. Everyone can’t be wrong unfortunately.
