Our new loanee goalie , for me hasn’t been the £5.5 million offered upgrade & as again yesterday, showed poor judgement & blotted what was a fantastic day/result .

Rushworth looks like a solid champ keeper (eg. Infinitely better than Wilson), I’d personally replace him with Dovin when Dovin is ready rather than spend £5-6m on him to have him permanently.

I dont think they have. Rushworth has been at fault in every game we've conceded for a goal. Hes no better than Wilson on the showing so far and that shit show from him today for the second goal was entirely down to him. The first goal if Collins had parried the ball out like that from the free kick you would have been calling him out.

But that’s why we needed to replace Wilson. Instead we’ve replaced “could have done better Wilson” to “could have done better Rushworth” I’m yet to see what he’s better at

A few decent ones here everyone!

It seems four games actually isn’t a decent sample size to be passing judgement with such confidence regarding a young goalkeeper at a new club, colour me surprised!

We never learn, do we.

We never give players a chance. Some start off poorly and then go on to be very good players for us.

Remember how poor Ben Turner was when he first came into the side.

We really need to give all players a chance. Can't see it happening soon, mind.

So crystal clear than Rushworth is leagues ahead of Wilson.

If we had dropped him after 3 poor games , what would have that done to his confidence? And Wilson has always been full of errors anyway

You could see he was good, as could most other sensible posters. Also, some of his early “errors” were basically nothing.

His last "poor" game was Oxford away. I just remember saying he wasn't anywhere near as good as Dovin...

He's been immense.

I stand by my opinion that Dovin is also an excellent keeper and if he doesn’t tear his ACL we probably make the play-off final. People seem to have very short memories!

Yeah I agree with that for sure.

But also, do you still not want to spend 5-6 million on Rushworth?

IF we go up, we'll try to sign Rushworth and Dovin will be backup.

Met him in the lift after the game on Saturday with one of the coaches, very friendly, and my brother said to him that his heart was in his mouth when he turned that Leicester player on the edge of his box to which he replied "don't worry mate, I've got it all under control".
Lovely lad and possible future England keeper with the quality he has.

Exceptional keeper, unfortunately I can very much see him replacing Martinez at Villa next season. Excellent move for him, would just rather it was to another prem side.

I'll be kind to the original poster. Like many of us have been on occasion, he was simply too quick to rush to judgment.

Many on here have rushed to criticise players who have turned out to be very good for us, Gykores being a prime example.

A lot were totally opposed to FL's appointment. Those comments haven't aged well

I think if we go up I would now definitely spend on him (mainly due to Dovin seemingly having a setback with his injury).

Why do we have to keep dragging these back up to say I told you so? Be happy that we're where we are and doing well and that it turned out this way. Thankfully I didn't join in on this one, but most here who have more than a few posts have chequered history at best (apart form @covcity4life who is of course always right ) .

Because it’s fun and it’s a very minor “consequence” for people to acknowledge their own written word! Like you say, we all get stuff wrong, some more than others though…

Yup, I was against him coming. I will button it in future.

With managers and clubs, sometimes they are just a good fit.

As soon as he was installed, mind, I did totally back him and have done so ever since.

Just need to give everyone a chance to prove themselves

He's been brilliant, but I don't think he will be an England regular, his kicking and distribution let him down.

He's only 24, in a few years that aspect of his game will mature.

The amount of errors he's made over the years has been staggering. For Everton and England.

What errors for England? I don’t think he’s ever made an error for England in a major tournament and has often been either our best or one of our best at said tournaments.

Other than Gordon Banks there hasn't been a better goalkeeper at tournaments for us

If Rashford and Sancho put their penalties away, he wins us the tournament at Euro 2020

England. My mistake then. Don't like international football/England so may have imagined it. As for Everton. There are literally YT video compilations of his errors.
