Robins and loan players (2 Viewers)

I have detected some veiled citicism for Mark Robins on his love of loaning in players. My take is if you have little or in our case no money and Barnsley probably fell into that stall too and you can't buy, you have to borrow. The secret is getting the right loanees in and getting them to play, and that can be difficult, well he certainly did that at Barnsley as they went from relegation candidates to touching distance of the play-offs. So lets not look for little things to criticise, give a bit of time and lets see how things pan out.

and nearly all the way back again. The main critisism of Robins from the Barsnley fans that I talk to you was his style of play which wasn't the best (but IMO if you're getting results who really cares) and the fact once he found a winnning team and they started to climb the table he would keep on changing it and still bringing in more players which then became a losing team and they went all the way back down again. I hope if he manages to start getting a winning team he doesn't feel the need to keep messing around with it.

Weirdly I had a different Barnsley fan say to me yesterday that robins is a class manager who brings in quality loan signings and wouldn't be surprised if we went on to be promoted under him

I suppose that's football for you and everyone has a different opinion, some are realists and are happy they stayed in the league when they were bottom and others are disappointed they were on the brink of something and he mucked it up. I work up in the area and most seem to say he put together a good team and they went from bottom to 7th and then he kept changing it and bringing in more loan players, almost like he had built a team and then wanted to do it again. They dropped all the way back to 18th with his constant tampering. They all think he was good in general but ultimately he didn't push them forward.

They all prefer the new manager in terms of style and results.

We can all agree though that Barnsley in 7th position is a major over achievement for them.

We said a similar thing last year when we brought in Norwood and Nimely. Look what difference they made!

Sod the Barnsley fans view.

Why don't we watch a couple of games and make our own minds up.

I have q mate from Bradford. Not seen him for a few years. All I remember about where he lives is it is near a caravan showroom. Been to a couple of games with him. Just managed to talk to him. Three words he said stood out. Changes tactics midgame. When did we last have that?
