Genuine remorse doesn't mean that you receive no punishment, and rehabilitation doesn't happen overnight if it ever happens. I also get that it's very difficult to determine, one of my family was a psychiatrist who sat on parole panels though admittedly, more from a mental health perspective. If in theory genuine remorse could be proven and a murderer rehabilitated, yes I'd prefer that to executing them.

The Reading case and most others do not fall under this. As society has been grappling with this for thousands of years, I don't know why you're insulting me for my opinion.

No, telling me I write crap is the insult. Saying that I'd release mass murderers ages ago adds to that and nowhere did I say 'if he says sorry then let him go'. The personal background is relevant because it informed my views up to a point on this issue.
