Personally I dont think it was a mistake to let JCH leave. He didn't pull up and trees here, and didn't suit the type of football we played. He's done well since leaving us, but we've ultimately kicked on and got promoted and he's still in league one.

Isn’t he top scorer in league 1 ? To let him go but keep max and Baka is criminal we didn’t even add on a sell on fee although heard he was hard work around the club

I reckon he'd have done really well with all the good deliveries into the box this season, and he does hold the all up well, and his play acting is bang on at this level lol

He is, I just don't think he would have flourished with us. Some players just don't fit the system. He was also allegedly our highest paid player and on a decent whack. He was moved on to free up wages. Its not a let him go v keep baka or max.

Clear cut yea, we have missed a whole host of clear and half chances that we get though... That's the problem. And also no fucker gets on the end of any crosses, and we put alot of high quality balls into the box.

as shown xg tables are misleading, but we are slightly underachieving based on this... And because Swansea have a ralatively iron wall defence they are over achieving... This xg doesn't alter the fact that what's cost us is missed chances when we get them and it puts pressure on our back line to never fuck up

Pretty sure that there was a thread on here in the last day or two that said our chance conversion is pretty much average for the league. The problem is we don't create enough clear cut or really good opportunities.

CCFC vs Opponents - Stats Analysis

Ok, so slight variation this time in that it only takes into accounts games that we've participated in. i.e. During our games we have been shown 3 Red Cards but only 1 Red Card has been shown to the opposition etc. Anything particularly stand out or surprise you? One thing I'd take from it, is...
www.skybluestalk.co.uk

And re: crosses and balls in the box, we simply don't commit enough players into the box. Quite often there is just 1 or 2 in there.

Who knows? Going by that same thought process would Walker have scored two the other day if Max hadn't been on the pitch? He won the penalty and chased down the goal kick to get us in for the second. And without those two goals we don't win that match, so by that argument Biaomou won us that match cos Walker wouldn't have scored without him doing those things.

Consider this. If we'd been able to play two of Walker today instead of max and walker, would that've been better? Apart from the set up Walker did very little and won''t do because it's not his game. So if we play two of him the ball is going to pretty much constantly come back at us because Walker isn't going to chase, challenge or hold up the ball. Max does that so Walker doesn't have to. It's a complimentary relationship that works heavily in walker's favour.

Like I've said before it's the Rosario argument. Everyone complained about his goalscoring and stated how much better Mickey Quinn's was. Rosario got sold and Quinn pretty much stopped scoring. Why? Because the person doing all the donkey work allowing him to score goals wasn't there doing it anymore.

Now when Godden is fit I'd fully expect him to come in for Max and we play a front two of Walker and Godden, but Godden will have to do most of the work because Walker won't. If we ever go back to one up top Walker is not the man you want playing it.

Let's be honest Robins has done a fantastic job but getting rid of JCH was a mistake, definitely in hindsight but probably also at the time, given that he definitely had something but we just couldn't get it out of him.

The Rosario argument is an urban myth and he was useless and overrated as well

JCH has 2 league goals less this season than Biamou and Bakayoko do combined during their entire City careers. Almost undoubtedly will finish above them both by the end of this season

One header. Rest of the match he strolled around doing nothing.

I'd be interested if whether you'd prefer him to play up top on his own? 'Clown'.

Either way, Walker is far superior to Biamou. He was decent towards the end of our season in League 2 but the time has come to move on from him. We can’t afford to keep deadwood around and we don’t owe him anything, he’s also at a stage in his career where he needs to be playing regularly.

Without trying to stir the pot, Max, Kelly and Shipley have done more at this club than almost any in 20 years.

Whether you like, or in your case despise Biamou, he's been involved in two promotions and hopefully survival in the championship. We've had significantly better players than him who have done nothing.

without investment in the summer I strongly doubt we'll be able to move on all our 'deadwood'.

I think it will be a case of prioritising where we're weakest. I can see Biamou still being here. Hopefully 4th choice because we've brought in a decent striker ahead of Godden and Walker.

unfortunately it doesn't seem we have any promising young strikers coming through.
I don't mind him staying if budget wise it accommodates bringing in someone with a bit more proven quality than we have currently, and surely we can't have the same problem with injuries next season?

He was backup in League 1 and is a League 2 level striker. If we are serious about progressing we really do need to try and move on and have him nowhere near our first team next season.

I'm not disagreeing with your assessment of him but I think we have to be realistic about our budget.

In my opinion we need, as a minimum, a striker that is an improvement on anything we currently have at the club, (that won't be cheap).
Two new centre halves, two left backs, a strong, pacy, athletic midfielder and a keeper.

The thing with Max (and to a lesser extent Baka) is he was bought for lower level football. The fact he isnt really up to Championship is hardly surprising. He has progressed and while we are a) short of funds, b) have Godden injured (and Walker till recently), and c) have Gyokeres and Walker underperforming he is going to have to be used by Robins to do a job. The fact that he is still being picked shows that Robins is thinking he is doing the best possible for the task asked. Just because some on here can’t stand him doesn’t make any difference. Whilst we are playing 2 up top he will be picked (at least till Godden returns). They might not want him but can’t honestly say the team would be stronger if he was replaced by Gyokeres or Baka in the current system.

I'm happy with Walker / Godden fighting for one place. We need a good version of Biamou though, to give us that option except with some kind of end product.

Why two left backs?

Agree about the rest, I’d add an attacking mid who can take some of the pressure off O’Hare.

We've only got one loanee at the moment. Although one of the CBs could be a left footer who can play full back.

While we all know Max is not the answer by a long shot he at least tries with his limited talent whereas Shipley does have some talent but is not using it I wouldn't say he disappears from games because he just don't get into them, Allen too is limited and Hyam I don't know whats going through his head ...fuck up after fuck up is killing us so we definitely need a striker who offers a threat or 2 a pacy playmaker and centrebacks and left backs so lets hope we sell lots of season tickets and have good gate receipts

Its moot argument really. Regardless if you hate him, or just think he's is doing a job for the team, its ultimately down to Robins. Robins keeps selecting him, so regardless of the slating he gets week in week out on here, he is obviously doing the job that Robins and Vivash are asking him to otherwise he wouldn't be starting most weeks.

We need Godden back ASAP.

I've got to agree with Sickboy on this. They are both back up strikers in this league. Having watched Walker, I'm concerned he cannot play as a lone striker. For me we need to be constantly looking to improve and that's why we need to bring someone in who is better than both of them, they then need to raise their games.
