As the group with the most experience of protesting outside the Council House on this issue, I think Get Cov Back to the Ricoh will be happy to get behind this

What do we want ?

Sisu don't want the Ricoh and will be moving out in 2-4 years.
Counsellors know this, the public who are fed up with this CCFC nonsense don't care.
If the public knew that Sisu have been fighting to get their asset on the cheap and are still trying they would direct their councillors to vote Wasps in and Sisu/CCFC out.

I fear the worst as CCFC followers are 10,000 in 350,000 and a lot of them are not Coventry ratepayers.

Well done Sisu :claping hands:...... :jerkit:

I can be there for 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Can make Monday too, if it is better to be then.

Anyone on here post on Cov RFC's forum? Would be a very good idea to get Cov rugby fans onboard with this too.

They need to feel like if they do this the electorate of ccfc fans will hold them accountable and take their jobs at the election. This would concentrate a few self serving minds at the council.

Here we are again....Protesting. Nobody wanted the stadium according to SISU. They have no plan to take the club forward.

At least one person at CCFC knew about this bid several weeks ago. (ok, it was hearsay but it turned out to be rock solid). No bid has come forward from them has it?

Not sure how this is going to go although the councillors have a duty to protect assets. I fear the club will come second in their considerations.

My dream is for SISU to go. I fear they will take the club with them. They are actually more likely to do it now with the assets of season ticket sales in the coffers.

The Football League need to safeguard our club somehow. Perhaps the 'protest' should focus on their role in this as well?

Did he know about the bid several weeks ago? It always helps if you are tipped off. Do SISU have any intention of staying in Coventry with the club? So what is their plan?

No Sisu are not being allowed to put in an offer it is all being done behind closed doors and no one else is welcome!!
I have voted this council in as have many others we demand to be heard and to be told all the details.

Really need to unite in this battle then we will be stronger to fight the next one.

We have fought hard to get the club back can't just sit there and let others piss it away

I agree with everything that you have said other than SISU not being allowed to put an offer in. There is nothing stopping them from putting an offer in.....other than maybe a lack of cash. If they were going to put a proper offer in and keep to it they would have done so by now.

The one part I don't understand is where CCC are said to be buying the Higgs share to get around not having to deal with SISU. The agreement to sell the Higgs share to CCFC ended when they took our club to Northampton and broke the agreement in place.

Sorry I can't make the protest but will be there in spirit. Hope the weather is decent and that you all get noticed.

I will say this for both of them.

Don't always agree with what they say, don't always agree with the types of protests decided on... would trust their sincerity.

Also they seem happy to back their words with action, which many of us aren't. We sit back and wring our hands.

I didn't agree with standing on a sodding hill in Northampton, but after a few of us did for Cardiff the club was back. Personally don't think that's what caused it but hell, it made some of us feel better that we were doing that... and it didn't hurt, did it. Some of them had been doing it all the season before, and that surely shows if nothing else they care.

In this case however, if sod all turn up to a protest before the council meeting then effectively we're giving the city a mandate to cut adrift our own sporting teams in favour of short term finance taking precedence over long term roots and heritage.

As with standing on a hill, it's probably worth putting aside who you think's to blame for a simple message that moving clubs and teams is wrong, and a simple message that we want the best for Coventry City, CRFC etc. We can disagree on how to get the best... but surely we can agree that the focus should be on making them better rather than parachuting in and out of the city random teams?

We have protested to get Cov playing back in Cov and if this deal goes through and SISU won't accept a rental deal then they will build a stadium outside the city, so for me this protest is just as much about keeping cov playing in coventry. Everyone should turn up!!!

Come on Michael, you need to ramp your keep cov in cov campaign!!!

CCFC fans (10,000) will have little influence on overall Coventry Population (330,000).
In fact if they make a decision for CCFC it could go against them.

I'm staggered when I talk to people about this that some still do not know we were in Northampton for a year.

There is nothing to stop SISU from putting a bid in. There is nothing from stopping you from putting a bid in.

If SISU put a bid in and CCC refused to listen you would find CCC in trouble. With no contract in place the arena must go to the highest bidder. Not totally as simple as this, but this would be the basics of any deal done. If SISU were the only ones interested it would come down to agreeing a price. But there are now at least them and one other interested. Maybe SISU are not interested in a bidding war. All we can do is guess what is going on. And there is a good chance that there is a confidentiality clause involved so CCC won't be able to tell us anything until any deal is done.

I am as angry as anyone else about what is going on. But what really is going on? We don't know how much that Wasps would be paying. We don't know how long the lease would be for. If Higgs were out of the equation there would not be any current lease. It could even be something like a 10 year lease for Wasps. How many have said that it would only cost them 7m? It would give them a chance to get something sorted closer to where they should be playing. The naming rights are about up. So having Wasps and CCFC playing there would make it even more valuable. The naming rights would pay for the cost of the lease. And maybe CCC would do this thinking that SISU would be gone before the 10 years are up.

If we knew how much Wasps would be paying we would have a better idea how long the lease would be for. But as things stand we don't have much of a clue about anything. And with confidentiality rules CCC, Wasps and even SISU can't say anything if they are involved. Could it even be that Wasps would take over the lease and our club gets free rent for the duration? Or a cheap rent with F&B?

I am not trying to stick up for anyone here. I just don't understand why SISU are being so quiet for the first time. There must be something in it for them.

Should we not be protesting to SISU to get off their high horse and put a bid in.
That would stall the vote as it would have to be considered.

They seem quiet on this.

Just a quick one here boys.

I know that I have been a big Sisu out protester nothing has changed on that front.

But we now have a new devil on the scene trying to take over their crown.

So let us all put our differences to one side and Unite against this latest treat to OUR CLUB.

Next Tuesday we have a game at the Ricoh at the JPT the council also have a meeting scheduled for 19.00 to finalise/discuss the Wasps take over.

We are going to have a Protest at the Council House before the game on Tuesday from 6pm if it is an open meeting we intend to go, if not we intend to be heard outside.

So we need all City fan to attend the protest to show the Council that we are not happy with what is going on.

Grendel, Torch, Nick etc I know we have not seen eye to eye but we need as many there as possible this is a peaceful demonstration as all our protest to date have been..

Honestly we do not bite(fellow city supporters)

So come on we need to show we care !!!!!

SO IT IS TIME FOR LESS TALK MORE ACTION!!! BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE

We need to know why they have not spoken to the club and offered them the same deal first.

We should just try everything, letters, protests, anything and everything. Letters may possibly not work, but at the same time, I cannot see that it will do any harm whatsoever.

People need to register their concerns.

Did the agreement to sell the Higgs share to CCFC end when CCFC LTD went into liquidation? Therefore there is no agreement with Otium therefore can't see why they can't make a new bid under Otium.

With tickets only costing £5 there is no reason why people shouldnt go and protest but to be fair i think everyone is sick and tired of complaining....i am delighted i can go back and watch my team in the city i live but am soooo fed up of all this doom and gloom and it doesnt matter how much we scream and shout, its not going to change! SISU are scum and going nowhere!

If Higgs still have a 50% share in the lease it will stay as the 40 odd years remaining. If Higgs are paid off as they have wanted since they paid for the share the lease can be taken as null and void as CCC will hold the lease and freehold to themselves. So they can then do a new lease for as long as they want.

Yep.

I can be there for 1 p.m., but I think we'd probably look like a bunch of right lemons, me, 3 other City fans, a tourist looking for St Mary's Guildhall and an old lady queuing to pay her council tax.

We'd be very lucky if we could muster more than 25 people.

The trust have got an open meeting on Monday night.
Guest speaker will be Waggot. No doubt it will be brought up at that meeting.
I will be there to start off the debate if need be.
