The poor defensive performance largely attributed to individual errors that should be corrected. (Milan for Arsenal's 1st, Milan for Hull's only, the first 3 vs BHA, and all 3 vs Villa)

Should almost be to full strength after the break (minus Wright and Amenda). There is some quality at each position. While not a perfect comparison, Lampard took a bit when first coming on in 2024 to get the squad clicking. 10 new players and the highest competition, it would be fair to think the same is happening now. He's gotten the best out of JDS and Eccles among others, why shouldn't he be able to replicate that with time?

Even with a loss to NF, still only looking at an increase to 1.2 ppg through the March break to be back on track.

Worst case, relegated. But with some sales to balance the books, there's still a team competing for promotion the following year.

Saddle promised us Wright would be back at the end of this int'l window. Lampard didn't seem so confident. I was more thinking having Cherif and Awoniyi up to speed with playing only 1 up front.

Amenda's injury sucks but stretching for a silver lining, Pinnock and Thomas are forced to build a partnership and consistency.

Really just want the depth of KKH back for RB.

Another positive, only five times in the last ten seasons have we won five or more times in the opening ten league games.

We are traditionally slow starters in the league, so don't push the worry button just yet!

In all of the below season(s) we have not been relegated from any division despite bad starts and even got to the POF in 22/23.

Then every season we've improved year on year

23/24 - FA Cup Semi Final and top half finish after a season of bedding in new players
24/25 - 5th place, lose to Sunderland who go onto win the playoffs and then finish 7th in the prem the season after
25/26 - Win the league with 95 points, biggest points haul in our history

Bedwetters are never right but keep complaining. Great win today, just try and enjoy the journey.

we’re only two points off where I, and perhaps many others, thought sensibly we’d be at this point

I had a Hull win and a point from Brighton and Forest

we’re also only three points off Liverpool in 10th

We could quite easily be sat on 5 points right now and I think we'd all be saying what a brilliant start that is.

I don't think our performances deserved to be on 0 points from 4 games but it's a brutal league and if you don't take your chances you get punished.

Hopefully we can build now, with a more favourable run of fixtures coming up.

We look like we may have found some solutions. Structure was so much better which put us in a better shape without the ball.

Really good team performance hope the coaches keep working on this shape at Ryton. Players looked way more comfortable than the other games so far.

Looking at things objectively, we were never going to turn over Arsenal and Man city away in our first season, or Brighton with 10 men, the only result we should be disappointed with is the Hull game, and possibly the amount of goals conceded. We look a match for the likes of Forest, even away. Call me crazy but I can see 10 wins this season if we can avoid too many more injuries.
