Ive stood on a few stools. Normally dog ones at the memorial parkI can say,

Some I took at the last match.
There is no right or wrong and maybe we all suffer from looking back at it with rose tinted glasses but for me, personally, things like good seats, nice toilets etc. I don't really care about.
Do you know one of the little things I really miss? I miss the feeling of walking round the corner from Walsgrave Road into Swan Lane, where you could see the East Terrace up ahead with the big Cov badge on the side and the sealed off street full with people going up to the ground, the edge if you were in with loads of away supporters, the hair would raise on the back of my neck as we strode towards the ground in anticipation, THAT was the buzz for me. That is what I miss.
Jumping out of a taxi at the casino and walking through a car park into my seat just doesn't have the same effect!
Not a fan of HR at all, but got to agree with that. It sounded too silly to mention at the time, but I had this idea at the stadium forum of recreating that by having "streets" of retail or whatever that lead to the ground, rather than as you say a large car park, to try to get that feeling of joining with your fellow fan and the throb of the crowd as you go in. Probably a massive policing no-no these days though.
I think multiple points of entry is important for that too. Some people getting off a bus in one place, a train in another, another couple of walkup and another couple of car parks. Helps to get away too unlike the Ricoh were everyone seems to head for the Tesco subway.
Had a season ticket in that corner of the westend me my Bro and sixfielder Ian from tonight phone in he was always moaning about such players as Adibola used to make us laugh as we used to defend him just to piss him off would he want him at sixfields now?

You are so so right. We all have our memories of HR which not even Shitzu can take away from us!I remember Hr- always full houses, always noisy, intimidating to the away team, never relegated. Oh then I realise that's nostalgia. If you are comparing memories, HR has a bucket full for most of us. Beating Arsenal, Manu, spurs, Liverpool. But then we have all suffered on the wrong end of them teams there as well. I only enjoyed 2 proper successes at HR promotion and the FA cup.
Sadly if we were return to the Ricoh or any new stadium with these present owners, I don't think we would repeat any of that. If we did the 'new ground' would soon build up these same feelings as HR. They would be different but it would be more like comparing an 'old car' to a modern one. We I was a kid my dad had cars such as a Humber hawk, Austin 7, Triumph Renowned. When I started to drive I had an Austin Cambridge, Rover P6, a spitfire and a Midget. When I walk around the Transport museum I look at cars like this and remember happy times, frustrating times when the broke down etc. But I now have a Volvo C70 for fun and a VW Golf for work. They are far better than the spit or the P6 and would not want to go back to them, but I still remember them with fondness, a bit like steam trains and HS1/2 I suppose.
To me loved HR but the Ricoh could, and should have been a new dawn for us. Shame everyone who had the power to make that happen, were to risk adverse to see it through. Look at other clubs that have had new stadiums in recent years - fester, Saints, Derby, Middlesborough, Sunderland, there are others in the lower leagues the Amex stadium for example. It pretty much has paid off for them, it should have for us. I still think with the right ownership we could do well at the Ricoh
West terrace pre seating was the nuts. After that I seem to remember for most games it being empty bar a singing section in the middle. Favourite for me was kop before 96

When did the seats get put in? I don't ever remember it being standing so I'm guessing it was before 1986.

The Spion Kop Terrace was built in 1922. It was made all seated in 1981 when Coventry City became the first club in England to have an all seated stadium. The experiment failed four years later the seats were removed from the Kop (East Terrace) and it became all standing once again. The Kop was replaced by a new stand (costing £4.3m) in 1993.
Excellently answered for me! People seem to be getting hung up on crowds. The crowds were shit in my era, the ground was a dump compared to the Ricoh.....but it felt raw and real
