I don't know but do Sisu satisfy the rule on owners ? Perhaps they could force them to loose the club.
Being realistic what laws have SISU broken in running the club? You can hardly expect the FL to force an owner out because they say the club has to be self sufficient.

Even if it comes to leaving the Ricoh again SISU have been given all the ammunition they need. They just go to the FL and say they tried to agree a deal to stay at the Ricoh but Wasps walked away, they looked in to moving to the Butts but the council tried to block it. Do you really see the FL challenging them, if they did it would be another court case.
Heard anything about the court ordered mediation? A mediator was supposed to be appointed by last week.
Coventry City Council and Wasps RFC ordered to mediate long-running State aid dispute with owners of Coventry City FC - Matrix Chambers
The local media should be following up on this regularly. Asking all sides what the latest is and when the mediation is taking place.

The Butts thing was a smokescreen, there was never any prospect of it happening.

All I can think is that the CT are being silent because something is happening on the quiet, we can but hope.

The council haven’t had anything to block. It’s the lease holder who’s blocked it and you know it. Why bullshit? Let’s just deal in reality for a change. The reality is Coventry RFC once again rule out Coventry City FC groundshare Let’s not try and pretend it’s any different. It isn’t and it serves no purpose to pretend different.

Wasps have not walked away............yet. Politically that would be a disaster.
In fact if CCFC leave the Ricoh it will be engineered by Sisu.
The council can't block a planning application other than on planning grounds.
Get real.

Agree on finding out and pressurising for details on the mediation.

What you mean is, if Wasps decide they don't want to sign it then it will all be SISU /CCFCs fault and they just need to make it look that way so they don't look bad? The same as every time something happens that could potentially make Wasps look bad.

If the local Rugby club that we’re not suing doesn’t want to be our landlord it really shouldn’t be a surprise that a franchised in Rugby club who we are suing doesn’t want to be either. Maybe it’s all CRFC’s fault too. So long as we don’t shoulder SISU with any of the blame you’ll be happy.

So you don't think wasps should shoulder the blame? Or the council? If wasps have agreed a deal and walked away, how can that be sisus fault?

I'd happily haul them all into a court / in front of MPs to get a grilling which I said at the start of the thread.

I don't think Cov Rugby have agreed it all and then changed their mind just as it was about to be announced have they?

Shall we just sit and wait for the same things to happen where it ramps up the anti CCFC stuff just before something that could look bad for Wasps comes out like every other time? Not sure how many times it needs to happen before it gets more and more obvious to everybody else.

I'd imagine if Wasps are refusing a deal it will be to force regime change at CCFC. After all, any new owner could do a deal with Wasps in a matter of days if they are willing.

Decent seats there, did say to the wife that it's ideal because she could go to the cinema while I go into football. ;)

If they will sign a deal and we will be at the Ricoh, what are a few MPs going to do by discussing it? Realistically, what can they force?
I think it’ll highlight the need to reform the FL...... won’t help us but will help other clubs in the future. Ownership tests etc etc

Yes but to what extent? The only way they will ever get around it is to make every club fan owned / in control of the fans and how are they going to implement that?

So much of it is subjective, the FL can't force owners to put money into a club or anything like that. They also can't force them to drop debts etc. (Unless obviously illegal / fraudulent).

I'd love the FL to say

Every club must own its ground
Fans must have overall control but can get investment
Wages are capped at
Ticket prices capped at

Make it more of a fans game, but how does that get implemented?

Wasps want CCFC settled. Sorry to inform you but Sisu are stopping it because no one dare deal with them.

That's nothing to do with what I said is it?

You have just made out Wasps are distressing CCFC, you have also claimed to be in the know about distressing CCFC for them to swoop in and save us.

The blame, no. Some blame, yes. It shouldn’t exonerate SISU though especially as they carry the majority of the blame.

You need to step back and look at the bigger picture.
Sisu are attempting (badly) to distress Wasps and yet have no intention of buying the Ricoh for anything near what Wasps paid.
The only way this can end is for Sisu to back away and give the club a chance.

If like you say Wasps aren't going to kick CCFC out then why delay it when it's due to be announced? To distress CCFC they would properly kick CCFC out.

There's only so many times that Wasps will have the "We aren't SISU" card before it stops working.

You don’t know yet if Wasps have agreed it and changed their mind, you don’t know yet if SISU have changed their mind. We don’t know yet if anything has been agreed to walk away from. It’s all speculation, Chinese whispers and here say.

If wasps have changed their mind or were unwilling to talk about it in the first place that still only puts them in the same boat as CRFC.

You talk about ramping up the anti sisu stuff perhaps you better have a word with CD who’s given a complete misrepresentation on who’s blocked the BPA ramping up the anti everyone but sisu stuff.

Let’s just deal in known facts shall we and the only known fact is we know no facts on this matter. We have an announcement about an announcement that’s not happened (true to form) and some rumours. That’s it.

So what's the aim of delaying it if they have agreed to a deal already but gone back on it to put it on hold?

Let me think................. maybe because Sisu are trying to get them out by forcing them to pay more when they wanted to pay less.
From the timing, the deal was on the table expecting the appeal to fall over. It didn't so it's still on the table.
What have Sisu/CCFC said on any deal ?
I think both parties are waiting for the mediation to finish to be honest and maybe a deal will come out of it.
Since successful mediation requires Sisu to concede the case you may be able to work out the problem here.

It doesn't really put them in the same boat as CRFC.

It is a known fact the council tried to put a clause in for pro football at the Butts. That's what he was referring to wasn't it?

That doesn't answer the question does it?

If they agreed the deal and it was due to be announced etc, why then pull it? If they really want to distress CCFC and fuck them over they just kick them out, no discussions or anything surely?

This entire situation is beyond farcical.

There has been lots of rumours about where the Club is, with agreeing a deal with Wasps, but nothing substansial.

The Club is making a rod for it's own back IMO and could help itself by releasing a statement saying, this is what we've done, this is what we're doing and this is what we plan to do. While the Club may not be able to announce an agreement it can at the very least show fan's it's being proactive in trying to resolve something that has taken to long to resolve.

Could this have been sorted beforehand, yes, is there more than one party to blame, yes.

What we need now is for as many individuals and groups to pressure both Wasps and CCFC to come to a long-term agreement that is suitable for both parties, whether that be joint ownership of the Artena or a long term tenancy agreement.

This is why it would be ideal to hammer them all, it will be the same usual shout about the FA without really knowing what they want the FA to do about it.

It's why this MP stuff is completely pointless, people might say "it gives our plight attention" but that doesn't get a deal done between Wasps and CCFC. Will they bring up a condition of sale to Wasps for example? I'd be very surprised as nobody really mentions that. It's all "take the golden share away", "reform the football league" etc.

This is normal for SISU, they do not make their strategy clear (perhaps because it will not please the fans) and when they do promise something it doesn't happen. Fed up of them.
