I certainly don't want to be nasty
If the reasons are genuine we would all be very sympathetic

Who's being nasty?

Likewise, the level of naivety is overtaking that because he had a good season for us in League One about 4 years ago.

AEK Athens fans also think he had a drink problem and turned up drunk.

Wigan sent him back early:

Wigan had agreed to take the Nigerian for the whole season, but now the clubs have to come to a financial arrangement over his wages after the Latics decided to end the deal early.

“I won’t make any comment about Bright Enobakhare. He’s going back to Wolves,” said Cook after Wigan’s 3-2 win away to Birmingham City on New Year’s Day.

Asked why he hasn’t had the game time, Cook added: “With respect, I won’t be commenting on Enobakhare.”

Rumour I heard was he apparently lied about a family member dying last time he was at the club to get out of training and go on holiday.

Then he's had a family bereavement this time which turns out to be true but intially the club didn't believe him which is why he was bombed out of the squad intially.

Who knows. Could end up being messy if true.

If he has lost an immediate family member then some people on here are going to look pretty callous.

If he is pissing about then sure, throw the book at him, sack him, whatever.

But he's innocent until proven guilty.

You always have to be careful from a HR perspective when someone reports family bereavement, however, I think you have to be an extremely naïve individually if you think a rap sheet and reputation count for nothing. It seems to be the boy that cried wolf with him.

There are well-informed posters on here and I tend to respect their point of view generally. I think it bothers me as I know someone who got persuaded by his missus to tell work that her mum had cancer so he couldn't go in regularly. That always hit a nerve with me since and this feels like it could be a similar thing.

Obviously if it is indeed true regarding him losing family members then I retract my comments.

If anybody uses a false bereavement as an excuse then that is on them and no one else.
If any person informs the company of a bereavement in their family I would expect the company to be sympathetic with that employee and offer their full support during this period.

Hardly as it's a classic boy who cried wolf scenario.

Can't really blame people for jumping the gun when he's reportedly previously lied about a family bereavement.

The thing is Nick, the lads clearly has a lot of personal issues.

A player with his talent, is worth looking after. (Anyone is worth looking after if they have mental health problems). Give him the support he needs. Work out what the issues are.

Mark Robins has shown he can be a decent man manager. I'd love it if he could turn Bright around rather than throw the book at him like everyone else.

There's a reason other clubs have fucked him off though.

A player like him will only play well on his terms, all he is bothered about is money.

Let's not forget he was telling our fans he was signing then fucked off to Wigan last time, we owe him nothing.

Of course, if he has mental health issues then we would surely have known about them so should have put in place some help for him IF he wanted it. IF he chose not to take it then his contract is torn up.

If Liam Kelly or Dabo came and said they had a family bereavement, you know as well as I do that the club, Robins, and the fans would be right behind them and would support them the whole way in every way they could.

Let's see what happens, but it feels to me like this is a different situation with a player who has proved several times that they cannot be trusted. As I said, I will retract my comments if what I have said is wrong, but I suspect that won't be the case.

Compare it to if it was Jodi Jones who nobody has a bad word to say and everybody will say he is a top pro and human being and works so hard.

The fans, the club and everything would be right behind him.

But this is my point, I feel it runs far deeper than being a greedy, lazy sod.

It's like kids who get into gang trouble. You can choose to throw them in a prison or you can look to rehabilitate and fix the problems.

Considering his ability, I'd much prefer we chose the latter option.

End of the day what's the rush. He h21080382snt played consistent football for 18 months.

Maybe he picked up a knock, maybe a family member has died.

TBH the club would mention if injured or absent through illness.

Its because of the silence from the club i suspect it maybe something more serious such as a death in the family.

I truly do not understand this "bad attitude" mantra that keeps being banded about. Robins would not have gone near him after working with him previously if his attitude shite.

He always delivered on the pitch in League 1 without exception and i have no doubt he will do it again when ready.

Back in the day, there was always a cull of grandmothers around deadline time.

Anyway, for his sake you'd kind of hope he is making it up, as I wouldn't wish on him losing a close family member suddenly.

His ability isn't even guaranteed at this level anyway.

As I said, if he does have issues then his contract should have been loaded with condition, if he didn't follow them or take the help offered he's out.

If he wants to live like a baller then let somebody else fund it.

Of course, but he's clearly got ability and we've given him a contract. A complete waste to let his fanny around for the next two years.

You also have to wonder how it works with team spirit. If the other players see him acting up then what example does it set?

If he is on a couple of grand a week and has bad discipline and doesn't even play then how would somebody like Jamie Allen look at it? What about the youngsters, bad example to set?

We don't know that though. It's all just rumours this time and it was all just rumours last time.

Like I said if he's fucked up then yeah throw the book at him.

Robins isn't going to play him if he's not applying himself or if he's acting up. If he did that would open a complete can of worms, be detrimental to the team/results and likely cause a lot of unrest within the squad.

Fucking state of the amount of ‘ifs’ on this thread. The cry wolf is on him for the past but how about we wait for a statement from the club or at the very least some basis of fact?

I tend to think he's playing silly buggers, but the decent human thing to do is assume he's telling the truth and believe him until proven otherwise. Rumours, guesses and bullshit flying around from fans is the only guarantee here - time will tell if Bright is too. Have some respect until/if he squanders it.

He is worth working with we have little to lose his pay is budgeted for and I wouldn’t be surprised if there are provisos in it re. behaviour etc. and if he’s bullshitted a death the club could and would find out easily,
Assuming it’s true I don’t see why us fans should be told anything it’s a personal thing.

Your comments make sense but regarding team spirit, doesn't look to have caused many issues at the moment. He's probably training with the U-23s if he's even at Ryton. I reckon the main squad wouldn't be seeing him.

To be fair, it was Better Days is saying and he was on the lash in Canary Wharf the day after the Wolves game and telling the club a relative had died, that doesn't look great.

Especially after all he's been through with previous clubs. Surely you'd try to keep to a minimum, the reasons for people bashing you? Going on the lash at a time of year that players should be getting fit, isn't a great look.

And this came from his own Instagram (granted, I didn't see it).

This is the main thing for me. At a time of year when you're trying to get in shape for the new season, a player shouldn't be doing this.

Especially if they're trying to change their ways given their previous clubs and the way they've left them.

What are the club going to say though "We can confirm reports Bright Enobhakare has sacked off training to go on the lash"

It'll be buried and if MR decides it's not worth the effort there will be a "We have terminated his contract by mutual consent" - Even then people will say that we can't criticise him as we don't know the full story.
