Which doesn't guarantee the collector goes into the ground and scans their ticket and we both know there are people who'll sell their tickets. The only 2 England away games I’ve collected tickets for was Scotland away @ Celtic park and Russia away in a carpark near the stadium.
As for technology at grounds it’s an easy set up . Just look at ours, contactless QR and barcode. And these can be personal to a specific person
I can see a logic where this works for home games but it's still a pointless exercise. For a few reasons:
1. For most away games, STHs will get tickets for away games if they want one
2. It creates more work for the club because they need to investigate claims where people have 'scanned' the ticket but the points haven't come through
3. It defeats the point of buying a ST if you don't get 230 points for purchasing it
4. Away games, this is even more complex and other teams will not allocate resource to investigate which of our fans physically scanned their ticket or not
On point number 2 and 4, there's been numerous issues this season with England tickets not being allocated in a timely manner so imagine this would cause an absolute headache for the club on a weekly basis. By contrast, it's about 12-15 games a season for England with weeks and months to resolve these issues between games.
Ultimately, it's just not a practical or desirable outcome for club or fans fixing something that is a complete non-issue. It isn't worth the hassle over a 50 game season.
