No, we have heard Linnell say it. Again, the week before he said it didn't even exist.

Also, somebody in the local media has told Pete that the club had an issue with it being discussed. Tenner says it was him also.

The action can't be dropped. What makes you, CJ and Linnell think otherwise?

Mostly Sisus reaction TBH. And the fact that’s what Wasps are putting through the back channels.

Why are you so against them trying? What are you scared might happen?

This is really positive. I can understand Shmmeee having concerns and the questions you raise are totally valid and do need addressing.
However, this is a great starting point and trust needs to be built on both sides. Historically, SISU were evasive at meetings like this and The Trust also would simply use any meeting with the Club as ammunition to brief against them.

Feels very much like we are in a different place now. Don`t think there is any other conclusion other than Boddy acts with a fair amount of integrity and has not deliberately misled fans over anything substantial yet. Pete, by replicating that trust will only build on these relations. The enhanced accounts just released are another example of this openness. I remember those nights with Fisher at the Squirrel which was completely shouty and pointless even if it made a few people feel better. The Trust lack of organisation and management of this type of activity was hugely damaging and amateur. The bizarre favouring of Wasps over CCFC and their well documented support of fantasy takeovers should have finally finished the Trust as a credible force- and I think they know the game is up now.

The right thing to do at this stage is to listen and engage- but be a critical friend and ensure all parties continue to do the right thing. The new stadium plans being crucial to this as I dont believe the club has ever really adequately explained why the new stadium has not been planned or built yet so we should be following promises of new developments here very closely.

The right thing to do is continue this dialogue and completely socialise the content in the media as it is more detail than any Media outlet have got out of the Club/SISU in a long time if ever ( doesn't reflect well on the media does it?)

Looks like the majority on this forum are broadly in agreement and also are genuine supporters whether they go to St Andrews or not and I would favour a continuation of this approach and a loose coalition of supporters not trying to pretend to represent everyone and everything.

Well Done

I’m not sure what your deal is but you’re coming across as totally out of control.

We have opened dialogue and had an initial conversation with Wasps and SISU. Because of the civil and balanced approach it’s reasonable to assume further opportunities will arise to ask questions regarding any and all aspects of the current situation and any future developments.

There were no applause and no waving of spears. It’s a good basis for mutual respect and becoming a voice in the proceedings, both fair and harsh when required.

Forget the Trust for a minute. This is nothing but positive.

The thing is, Pete is far from Biased or a "SISU Lover". I can remember threads where he was staying in the ground singing SISU out. He has hammered councillors asking for questions too I think, he's spoken to Wasps and also SISU.

Could you get much more balanced?

Like the council calling sisu's bluff by offering them land? You were against that one strangely weren't you?

No I think you’ll find I’ve been calling for that for years but it’s not likely to happen them giving them land below market rate

Im not scared of anything, I have no personal interests in this. I assume that's why you get scared when people make the Trust or council look bad? I assume thats why you say it's a conspiracy when the Trust were working with Haskell to try and force a takeover but it failed?

SISU haven't reacted to it, they have said it can't be dropped. As have independent people as well?

As I say fair play for going and the fact you’ve come away exactly how the Trust have with Wasps kinda proves my point about it not being evil conspiracies but rather the realities of trying to get answers and maintain relationships.

But there are clear questions you haven’t asked.

The big one being Wasps are clearly asking for a Sisu to contact the ECJ and ask for the case to be forgotten. You accepted the non answer about whether this would work but didn’t ask why they don’t try and call Wasps bluff if that’s the case.

The forum was a stadium forum Sandra Garlick set up ages ago with far more detail about the new ground than we have now. Where did it go? Why was it stopped? Likely it was just PR bullshit and if so what’s different this time? You can’t just accept “oh yes we want a stadium” on face value.

In terms of timescales again you didn’t ask, you assumed based on a five year deal but what are the deadlines? If we haven’t found land in the next three years what then? Isn’t this just more kicking it into the long grass while we wait for the state aid case? Essentially we are being told the same thing we have for six years with even less evidence it’s actually happening and are expected to just take this as gospel?

Like I say I get it. You don’t want to annoy them now you’ve got access. That’s to be expected and that’s what’s happened on the other wise with the Trust. The whole situation was so foreseeable and frustrating.

You cannot ask for a case to be forgotten, it isn't about "they hurt me" it's "they broke the rules relating to trading in your market". I'm not sure why you're pursuing this idea as you know better.

There’s some good challenge in there and I am happy to answer for me and allow mark to answer for him

I think we feel it’s very pro ccfc not sisu
I don’t think I’ve ever thought a new stadium was realistic I now think it is. We didn’t ask about timescales but they are very excited about a particular site (3 weeks comes to mind)

Not sure about funding, ccfc will take all the funds needed to compete. Who knows who will own it. We could and hope to ask more about this. For me this is an ongoing conversation with the immediate priority of getting Coventry back to Coventry.

I think it’s clear we did ask and the answer was there’s no point as the eu will follow up if there’s a case to answer.

the legals and indemnity are part of the nda paragraph

No applause but meeting was respectful and polite as it should be

Next steps are for Joy to talk to Derek and get back to Coventry then we can argue over new stadium

thanks for staying on here and articulating you’re views so well
Mark and Pete thanks for so much hard work and communication with Wasps, Sissu and us the fans. I think this is possibly the most positive meeting/discussion that we have had, certainly that we, the fans, have been advised of. Please keep up the dialogue with both CCFC and Wasps. There is one other pary I would urge you to now meet and that is CCC. Needless to say the biggest question I would love to be raised is IF they (CCC) are found to be at fault by EU would they (CCC) be willing to meet the indemnity that WASPS are requiring from CCFC.

When CJ put it to me I asked for tangible proof that asking for it to be forgotten would make any difference, he didn't provide anything to me despite them all being of public record.

If Wasps said they would let us play at the Ricoh if Joy became an alchemist some would be begging her to try it out.

The issue is the fucking indemnity clause, the indemnity clause is controlled by Wasps. Anything else is white noise.

Let’s cut the crap. The issue is Sisu won’t drop what is clearly a dead end legal case and an attempt to distress ACL. The indemnity is clearly a last ditch attempt after Sisu said they’d love to stop it but can’t to try and put pressure on Sisu to stop.

Joy clearly said here that she won’t stop the legals for anything and ultimately that’s what’s keeping us out of Cov (and six years of inaction on building a ground). But we aren’t allowed to say that and all have to pretend we don’t know what’s going on because fucking reasons.

Show me the legal procedure where they can drop this action?

You can't because it doesn't work like that.

You're fucking losing it.

What are you on about now? The EU stuff cannot be dropped. Can it?

Have a step back and chill the fuck out. I haven't seen you like this since it came out ACL were trying to move Wasps years before.

It really isn't me who is struggling here.

That’d be a first.

My issue is that we didn’t ask any of the questions that need asking and yet came away as if it was a grand success. If you can’t see how we are being played then fair enough. I’m fucking pissed that we’ve yet again proved we can make no inroads here and will be waiting forever. I’ve not said Pete is biased. He knows I don’t think that. I have said that we seem to care more about being near buds with the club than challenging their statements to get to the truth. Which is understandable, but annoying for someone who wants to see this resolved and thinks adding another fans group to the mix with half the info won’t achieve that.

In your view then joy etc are not being fully honest here and putting out what they want people to hear ?

The thing is we've been criticised for being keyboard warriors for so long, it's got them riled up as fuck that we've managed to organise a meeting with one of the key players by working together, this is a simple act to try and disrupt the positivity. It's backfired as anybody with any reasonable objectivity knows this is a good thing.

It’s biased because you only speak to one side. Same as the Trust because they burned their bridges. We will see what Wasps give up if and when that meeting happens and how it’s different from what the Trust have been saying. Right now it’s just a repeat of Boddys program notes to compare to the repeat of Wasps PR the Trust give us. It’s fucking pointless and we are being taken for a ride and no one can ask any difficult questions of either side for fear of not being allowed at the big boys table. For all the “why don’t you ask X” posts on here about the Trust and the media we’ve just done the exact same. Not a single question asked and every answer taken as gospel. Because that’s what happens when you are being used for PR. Just like the Trust are.

Whatever. This is going to become ten people shouting at me again. We’ll see where this goes.

Totally agree with your cynicism regarding the new stadium but other than that there is a lot of new information in there and a genuine attempt from Pete and Mark to get the main players from both side round the table together.
They've put both the trust and the local media to shame.

You do know that Eastwood ( the wasps guy) has said that it wasn't the EU complaint that caused the talks to break down......

Wow.

Congrats. You’ve totally made this thread about you.

Glad this little pearl came out to show how ignorant you are of the situation. Unless of course, you have actual proof the the EC complaint can be ‘dropped’...

...fuck off otherwise.

Struggling to follow your views here mate ?

Just frustrated that we’ve had a meeting with the club where we’ve learned nothing and no pressing questions or follow ups have been asked. I suspect if they were there wouldn’t have been a meeting with the club though. There are things I want answers from our owners for is all. Mark and Pete are good guys and trying their best but the parameters mean we won’t learn anything new. So it’s basically another supporters forum/club but not an avenue to make progress on the stadium.

Which legals are these then ? Are they against WASPs

Firstly, thanks to Pete and Mark for their efforts on our behalf.

A couple of other thoughts:

This suggestion that SISU should ask for the EU to drop the investigation into the complaint - even though everyone seems to agree that such a request would simply be ignored by the EU - seems to be a distraction. Now, if Wasps clearly stated that such a request would remove all "legal case related barriers" to CCFC returning to the Ricoh, then fair enough - pressure SISU. In the absence of such a statement, I'm afraid it seems to be an attempt to muddy the waters.

I've been a huge critic of SISU over the years. I thought that the way they broke the Ricoh lease was appalling (with the sleight of hand between the legal entities) and I boycotted Northampton, believing that the only option was to starve them back to Coventry. However, you have to give credit for actions and their recent running of the club has been good in the circumstances. I think that the timing of the complaint to the EU was stupid, but it happened and all parties have to deal with the current reality. Wasps can't realistically expect SISU/CCFC to give an indemnity on this issue, so they have to decide if they are going to do a deal to allow us to return to the Ricoh, or if they are going to maintain that the indemnity is their sticking point.

Who is saying it's a grand success? Who wants to be best mates with the club?

You do this meltdown act every single time where you just make things up. It's fucking embarrassing, have a break.

Don’t mean much unless we know what it was. I mean was it the refusal to not have future action? Was it the indemnity? Neither technically the EU case but related. We’re all just pissing in the wind here. All the more reason I’d like to see us put some pressure on the owners to build a ground.

My view is that Joy has been on the lookout for a fans group of her own to counter the Trust for a while and now she has one who won’t challenge her to feed us the same crap we’ve been being fed for six years. But now from fans!

So now we have Wasps/Trust/CET vs Sisu/SBT/Observer and frankly I’ve been on the Internet long enough to know that doesn’t lead to productive outcomes.
