Stupid in what way? Do enlighten me.

I don't think our caretaker manager should have a potential commercial gain in selling the club's training ground. Aside from any financial profit and conflict in interest, he should be concentrating on football matters.

he's spent an evening sitting with the parish council, discussing SISU's plans for the training ground.

As a director or acting manager, he hasn't spent any evenings with ccfc fans discussing SISU's plans for the club

What backs up your well crafted point anyway? I've gave you my reasons why I have no time for Venus.

I use Tapatalk, I don't choose to have that signature.

Your reason for Venus not being here is because of the owners. You don't want a manager at this football club then? That's why I think you are a bellend.

I want a manager that hasn't got an outside interest in selling the club's remaining biggest asset for his own potential financial gain. I want him to concentrate on the football side only. That is literally all I expect. I don't even expect him to be good.

You don't think that's a problem though?

It makes it even more insulting when he's saying that the place is too small and not fit for purpose. Even though it somehow served us fine for all those years in the top division, it's now not good enough for a team bottom of the third division? Those sort of statements show complete contempt for the fans.

We also know from the 'new stadium' bullshit, that it won't be replaced with anything long term anyway. You really think they'll build the club a new training ground if Ryton is sold?

And I'm the bellend...

I would be more shocked that MV doesn't get the job, its makes sense on so many different levels for the owners. MV knows the plan off the field so will have no issues on it, he is hardly going to create trouble or demand backing is he. Already backed up by JS regarding meeting and posts on here, he has already doing off field dirty work for them so we know he is in deeper than just a manager.

TM walked not just based on results he knows what is going on, i don't get a good feeling about MV, this will not end well on or off the field with him in my opinion.

In fairness to MV the property company directorship was registered over a year ago
That may be something completely separate from the club. Many people involved in football have property interests. Only MV can answer for certain of course

Do you know that Dedham Vale are involved in the sale of Ryton or are you just making an assumption.
If they are involved then I agree it is a massive conflict of interest, if not then you are just making a wild assumption and are shit stirring.
Find out the facts and then comment.

Have to say that this is the way I feel too. His Dedham Vale Homes venture currently has a empty portfolio so I wonder if it was set up with Ryton in mind. I'm starting to feel a mistrust for his motives and also feel that he has another agenda for his involvement on the board other than the well being of our club.
These are just my gut feelings and I could of course be completely wrong, but would you trust him as the manager of CCFC or could it be that he might be wearing two hats and that he has an ulterior motive for his involvement? In fact, should he even be trusted at board level.
Only time will tell I supose.

Sky Blues Talk, Coventry's own Kangaroo Court.

So Venus has an outside interest in a Property Development Company, and has done since mid 2015. So what? No one, not anyone on here has an ounce of evidence that his company is involved in the Ryton plans, nor that he has any personal gain from this, apart from that is part of his current job as a Director of the club. Yet some people on here find him guilty before the full facts are out there. Unbelievable.

If he is involved then it is disgusting, but before the rabid frothy mouth attacks lets just get the full facts first shall we.

This could all be resolved if Mark Venus stated categorically that Dedham Vale Homes will not be involved in developing the site at any time in the future.

That is exactly what it needs and a denial is all it would take to stop the speculation, simple solution really.
This is not - as some would seem to suggest - a Kangaroo court, these are just suspicions and with the recent history of the club, fans have every right to be suspicious.
So to move things on, let Mark Venus deny that his company has any link to the re-development of the Ryton site. That will either end the speculation or if not, fuel the fire.

Fair post and response. But this is somebody that TM was good friends with and brought in. TM always stressed the importance of the character of his players as well as the ability. I cannot see him having a right-hand man who is this evil mastermind that people are making him out to be, here to destroy what's left of the club? Furthermore, I would trust him as the manager of our football club, do I want him, no he isn't my first choice, but in the same way that you can't convict someone for a crime they haven't committed. How can we judge MV on something which is a gut feeling, and has no evidence?

Agree with Chip Batch. Dont think our manager should be pitching housing developments to RBC. Whoever manager is should be on training field and nothing more.

It is well documented that Tony Mowbray had for many years a good working relationship with Mark Venus and so therefore must have trusted him and respected his character. However, we haven't had a post managerial statement from Tony Mowbray have we, not one of any depth anyway and I doubt if one will be forthcoming. What we do know is that Tony Mowbray no longer has Mark Venus as his right hand man. Have you ever had a disagreement or a fall out with someone that you thought you could trust!!?
I must also point out that Mark Venus has certainly not been convicted and that there are simply suspicions surrounding his recent business venture. This is naturally understandable given his involvement with some of the unsavoury characters currently within his professional environment. Neither is he being judged. These are merely suspicions and it remains to be seen whether or not they have any credence to them.
It would however, surly be in interest of Mark Venus to make a statement on the matter.

Didn't Venus stay on as caretaker after mowbray got sacked from Boro? He also applied for the full time job.

Was he planning something devious there?

I like a conspiracy theory as much as the next person but the idea that Venus is here so he can build houses on our training ground seems a but far fetched.
