Just walked in the door. Interesting one today, we fronted up & made a real fist of it, which considering the level of opposite is all you can ask for, but I feel a little frustrated didn’t come away with something, even if it was just a goal given the chances we had. The city fans we spoke to on the way back to the car were very complimentary and said we look organised & dangerous on the break.

Have to take the positives and roll into next week with that level of performance and we can be confident of getting something. We have the blueprint from today of how to set up away from home now.

Well, nobody expected us to win that game, people were predicting three-nil, four-nil, even seven-nil. But we were so much better today and deserved a point against one of the most expensive teams (€1.43 billion) in the world. Five at the back made a big difference. We did really well in the second half, nearly came back and got a draw. Our best performance so far and a little bit of hope after this match. Well done lads, let’s build on this.

Man City were wasting time at the end. We really rattled them. Feared the worst when Haaland scored and we couldn’t get anything going in their half after the first 20 but Frank said his thing and the 2nd half was excellent. All the subs gave us more energy. Thought BTA and Tchou were the pick. Simms so unlucky with his chance. Referee giving every 50/50 their way. Bobby Thomas a rock. Thought MVE had a great 2nd half too.

I think it was EMC on Gvardiol in the first half and possibly EMC Vs Guihe in the second (by their corner flag) where they basically crumpled with minimal contact.

Remember the world cup just gone (any of the last 3 in fact, see also the Euros) where these were ignored? How long did it take for the PL to revert to type... The "hardest and most physical" league in the world apparently. A division where an asthmatic breathing through a straw can topple a 6' 4 95kg CB at 30 paces apparently. A fucking joke, that bald chancer in the middle can boil his own scrotum.

I don’t think so. It’s lifted some of the fanbase that were rushing to write everyone off but the squad are finding their feet at a different level. We’ve got some really good players and I know I’m repeating myself but confidence and support is now the key

Agreed, the stream I had was constantly called them City though in fairness the commentator did once refer to us as the 'travelling' Sky Blues fans - amazed he got that right.

The stats are correct but for perspective I wonder if historically we also played the top 3 placed teams?

That aside, missed the first half due to family issues but encouraged by the fight showed and the reports here. We seem to be slowly gelling better and once we get off the mark, confidence should hopefully start growing.

I was saying it to mates during the World Cup, Anderson is just a great footballer. Loads of people were shouting overrated etc but he’d just does all the basics very well, really good passing range and gets stuck in

Depends what you’re looking for in a striker. I want goals, and I felt Simms did more with less and came closer than Awoniyi did. Awoniyi is obviously a more composed and skilled runner with the ball but he had what was probably our best chance and couldn’t get it on target.

Only the goalies head stopped Simms shot. Both played well

Simms was on when we were starting to dominate and had his chance handed on a plate. Don’t recall him doing much else. Awoniyi fed on scraps and made his chance, looked far more of a threat and would maybe have worked better for us if he was the impact sub coming on when we were in the ascendancy.

Never felt more encouraged about a loss…just shows how bad that hull result was and hopefully we get a bit of confidence from today, we’ve shown we can mix it with the best of them…can’t afford to miss 3 sitters at this level

Watching hull is like going back to Boothroyd days.
