With only 12 months left on his contract I think £1.5m sounds about right to be honest. £2m would be at a very max. He couldn’t get a game in the side and from memory they only signed him for about £1m max so they’d still be making a profit

Agree with this. I think there's an element of players being sold the dream and it being painted out that they'll become a guaranteed star if they come to Europe. The Jando Sancho scenario is clearly being milked to the max to sell this. There also seems to be a misconception, especially from Premier League youngsters, that they're guaranteed to jump straight into the starting line-up upon arrival - which I think was the case with Lookman whose career seems to have stalled at RB Leipzig.

But at the same time like you said it's no secret that their opportunities are limited in the Premier League for youth players so it's understandable that they may want to seek first team football elsewhere. It's a bit of a catch-22.
