Class player.
.

So, according to you, is Jodi jones.

He played about 10 games for us prior to the defeat at home to Burton after which he became ineffective. Given your attendance record I doubt you e seen him play well for 2. Or 3 games.

I'm not sure about sell on clauses, but I read today in the evening telegraph that there is a promotion pay-out.

Normally there would be a percentage of any sell on fee in addition to a specified extra payment if the buying club is promoted during the course of the players' contract. There might also be additional payments if he was selected for full International games (probably not including friendlies)

Surely he cant be valued at 4.5 million by someone with football knowledge, some of the experts here think he is at least worth eleventy billion. ;)

I hope he does well, have nothing against him, but he still has a lot to learn.

FFS using words like genius is just laughable. The lad is a decent player with the potential to be a very good player. We can only hope that we have a decent sell on clause written in but we probably swapped that for the Murphy loan. The lad needs to develop a lot more (hence the loan to the sheepies) so I am hoping Norwich hold onto him for a few years yet.

I really wish him the worst. No other reason than about 3 years ago I emailed 2 different bookies to get odds on him playing for England and neither would take it. Other than my bitterness, I hope he goes on and does well. He's the most gifted player we've had for about 10 years, by a distance.

That Murphy loan that was agreed 6 months before Norwich signed Maddison?

Genuinely think he will be around the discussion for our Euro 2020 squad assuming we get there.

So cheap he attracted hardly any interest.

Isn't it also about a player's potential? Admittedly we only saw fleeting glimpses of it, obviously Spurs didn't want him that much and Norwich gambled £2-3 million on a player who may/may not flourish.

Stupid money on a kid with sparse L1 experience would be an absurdity, unless he was seriously, 100% destined to be a top asset.

I liked Maddison, personally, however his attitude was highly questionable, especially when he started thinking he was the dog's knackers.

Being as you know him so well, what was he doing to suggest he was the dogs knackers?

I didn't say I knew him well, calm down.

A few things I've personally heard, from a friend close-ish to the club, corroborates what I said about his attitude. It's an opinion, based on information.

Is that satisfactory?

"A few things you've heard", that clears that one up then.

He's only just establishing himself as a championship player - the fans aren't exactly raving about him.
No Grendel they really are, I live in that neck of the woods and have loads of Norwich supporting Mates,
probably have 15 to 20 ST holders using the pub and I can tell you they definitely are raving about him.
All are convinced he will leave but are just hopeful they will hang onto him beyond January, still only 20
But already running their midfield and having a massive influence on the tempo the game is played at.

Everton would be a good move for him

I agree with you but I don't think now is the time. They are definitely one of the few clubs who will really give youth a go in the Premier League and be patient with them as with Davies and Calvert-Lewin. But it's been well documented that they spent all summer buying every No10 they could get their hands on so I don't reckon he'd get anywhere near the first team. Obviously time's on his side but I could see them buying him and loaning him straight out again like Norwich did, so for me he's much better off staying at Norwich and developing

If he's loaned out he is developing... except he's also earning £££s. He's a young lad, I suspect he quite enjoys moving around the country.

He's obviously going to be a star, oozes class. Hopefully he moves this transfer window and we get a big windfall, and we can boost our chances for the rest of this season.

Just two years ago January 2016, Maddison and Sawyers were playing against each other in league one Coventry vs Walsall. Two of the hottest properties in football. They stood out then in league one and now stand out in Championship.

With Norwich languishing in 15th place in the Championship the odds look reasonably favourable that Maddison will be moved on.

I think when he came back on loan he'd lost a bit of spark. Everyone could see he was a talented lad though.

Wasn't it said by someone in the club that the deal to sell Maddison could sustain the club for years?

Aye that’s true. He could think he’s above that level once he signs though and lose interest if he has to go back again, we’ve got first hand experience of that

So yea he is the next Ronaldo, who actually knows if there was a sell on clause , how much and with SISU how much of it we will see. Its OK raving on about a player but unless he can benefit us there is no point for discussion in all fairness.

Why are talking about him? What are the figures? What will MR get ?

Two wyken boys in the top 5,,..........,........is it me or have city missed something here ?

No City are run by a bunch of chancers and who would hang around in that environment. If it was run by a proper organisation that looked at investment rather than selling it then things would be different.

Kieran, the chap who used to do the clubs social media, said he was really affected by the abuse he got from our fans when he left and was then loaded back.

That was Joy I think, said we had a stake in the rest of his career.
