Unlikely but more likely than supporting another team at the Ricoh. If the rugby stadium held 10,000 plus I would support a move there.

That's what Haskell would like to do but he can't see the figures until the administrator says the club is for sale and releases them.
The hypothetical questions evokes an interesting concept if the club is not for sake and up sticks.

Giving Coventry City a football club when they don't have one.
Giving the Ricoh a team. Then spend five years getting the team up to the championship.
Owning half the share of ACL won't solve the problems, it only made £1m profit last year and that was with ccfc paying full £1.3m rent. Yes it opens up income streams to put against FFP, but will still require an owner to fund losses if they want to increase the wage bill. And any money put in by owners will likely be in the form of a loan, so adding to our liabilities.
It vastly improves the present situation.
I agree it improves the situation, but it won't be the panacea that people think it will be.

With an owner working in partnership with Coventry City Council.
I guess there is more of a local team factor to the team that are now playing in Coventry.
They would now be my local team not one based in Northampton.

Our situation is so complicated that no one solution will work. Stadium ownership, however, is the obvious place to start. It still confuses me that this wasn't the first thing on SISU's agenda when they took over. It would be a massive monkey off our back but there's a billion other monkeys hanging on there. We have to pick them off one by one while remaining competative on the pitch. It's going to be a thankless task but sooooo worthwhile. It all starts at The Ricoh, though.
As I lived nr Nuneaton when growing up I went to both CCFC and 'The 'Boro so I would love it if the Boro came here.

Regardless as to who plays locally. There are many City fans for whom CCFC aren't the local club. They may watch their local team but nothing will ever compare. We've been through too much. We're too connected, spiritually, mentally, academically and emotionally. It's not like the loss of a girlfriend. I could watch a thousand teams at The Ricoh and enjoy myself, but if Play Up Sky Blues isn't a part of that then it's never going to be the same.

They have 1 stand no parking play Rugby Union which is played on longer grass then football will struggle to have both there seen the state of our pitch this season imagine a pitch that is used every week.

I assume this hypothesis is ultimately ground ownership. If this club has a choice as it would in other towns with higher capacity Rugby stadiums then we would be better placed to negotiate. We could then have realistically said we would leave. We cannot and so have been held to ransom by a socialist council interested purely in profit maximisation.
I believe they were given a good deal people go on about making money from match day selling how much do you think they make at the bars be lucky to clear £7,000 just about pay Bells wages another of Sisu excuses to try split the fans and to deflect fault from themselves.
A multi national hedge fund with the best accountants money can buy but would rather play and pay in Northampton with 1000 fans attending mostly away fans how long will it last?

Good points and post, I'm sadly not surprised that you think the board are at fault though as I find myself having to agree with you.I guess it's just a question of priority. They took over in a different climate which has been said on many occassions. They also said that the eventual plan was to excecute the option of the 50% share, so under the Ranson regime they tried to focus on the playing side to gain promotion to the Prem. The error in that plan was that they'd recruited Chris Coleman as manager, who had the strongest squad we've had post Prem but still lead us to repeated relegation battles. Following this, SISU/Onye became impatient and pulled the plug on funding, sold our best players and broke the board. It was then obviously a priority to get a new board in place with a focus on cost cutting. You'd have thought that at this point that rent would become the priority but, I'm sorry, I can't even begin to understand what the Deleui/Brody/Cloughting regimes plan was. Why they didn't try to address it then is beyond me. Instead, they used the tiny transfer budget for a pre-season in Portugal, sold anyone that could kick a ball and replaced them with 2 'keepers and eventually Cody McDonald. Until Fisher/Waggott, there has only been one constant at the top of CCFC and that was Onye. I truly believe he was the influence on the change of direction following the disasterous Coleman era and it was he who let KD make an absolute mockery of our club.
The mismanagement of this club has come from poor recruitment at board and management level. Namely Onye, KD, Brody and Coleman. Anyone will tell you that prioritising can make or break you. The three aforementioned failed to prioritise and allowed a bad situation to grow and grow and grow. The fact that when Ken left he patted himself on the back speaks volumes for the man.
