Redoing my ratings from yesterday after sleeping on it

All he can do is operate as a decent box crasher.

Which is what ge should be doing.
Sending him out wide to get involved in these ridiculous attempts at overloading the flanks is wasting him.

Get him arriving in the box and get some decent balls into him.

I don’t think we should be looking past that at all. I agree with what you say about line breaking passes, but unfortunately the most important thing about football now, by and large, is being extremely fit and mobile.

Its hard to look past a well paid professional athlete playing in one of, if not the, best league in the world, being out of condition playing for a club some people claims he loves.
When you see some of the stuff he was trying to do yesterday its even more frustrating because he clearly has something no one else in the squad has.

I totally agree.
What I dont agree with is some of the totally over the top reaction.

Managers sometimes get it wrong, he did yesterday, plenty of opportunity to get it right as he has done most the time since hes been here

We need to move the ball alot faster players need to live more watch any game in the premier and its all about pace and movement unfortunately we haven't got this.Why pay 20 million on a player if he isn't good enough to get on the bench.

I'm not sure there was much OTT reaction in reality. A bit of frustration maybe but at the end of the day, Arsenal was a free hit, yesterday was bread and butter PL points at stake and we fell short. Its not as if he, the players and us, didnt know what to expect.

Some of that was on FL in terms of selection/formation and subs, but ultimately its the players job once they cross the line. The slow pace and depth we played, esp in the first half would not have been his demand, thats on the players; in game decision making, thats on the players; being able to make a 10/15 yard pass and then move, thats on the players.

Ultimately, we havent had a shot in anger in 180 minutes, and not once looked like scoring. At no point yesterday did we have Hull penned in and under continued pressure. Wide players were too isolated, support arrived too late and we didnt carry enough threat in the box. All of this is fundamentals.

Everyone has seen the run of games coming up. The PL is relentless and therefore time is in short supply. There would have been plenty of sharp words both at HT/FT yesterday (or at least there should have been). Yesterday as a club wasnt good enough all round, on and off the pitch.

I expect a reaction v Man City although not a positive result. Brighton is the next opportunity to show we mean business and have the nous to stay in the PL.

I'm a firm believer in FLand want him to get it right. He has been fantastic for 2 years and this is his first real tough patch he has faced.

True, but at that time we had injury and illness ravaged squad. But yes, he definitely pulled it round. We also made good decisions in the Jan transfer window. We need to do the same in the final 3 days and get the final pieces in place.

I don't quite understand where MVE was at times... seemed to be a CDM with the ball? but was always 2 steps away from where he was supposed to be? JDS played above his assumed ceiling, most others were average at best. why we insist on keeping on crossing in against them I'll never understand. no plan b at all.

I noticed in the Plymouth game, Latibeudiere was taking up inverted positions and was then caught out for their first goal. Then yesterday Milan was leaving a space by doing likewise. It's not working.

Don’t fully get the Hamer and Sakamoto criticism.

Sakamoto obviously should have done more for the goal and after that his head had gone, but before he was putting crosses in, pulling two defenders onto him every time and twice set up MVE for an overlap (which he fucked both times). The real issue is LT should have gone left and Sakamoto right. BTA on was baffling, especially against a low block.

Hamer isn’t quite at it yet, but not enough to be called out as a waste of a signing etc (on other threads). He is our best offensive passer, so he needs to get himself sharper and we need to work out what role he plays (even as an impact sub) but definitely not left midfield.

I thought Sakamoto looked bright when he came on and was positive, up until the goal.
Think I'd stick with Tchaouna for now though.
