Hull Player Ratings

Oggy also said same about loum, and Sakamoto was an upgrade when came on, so I wasn’t only one.

As to whom was to blame defensively, toss of a coin as they were playing wingbacks and I think Milan was following instructions to hold his position leaving loum to track Giles. Also knocked a mark off him for that horrendous back pass 1st half
Giles is about as dangerous as a toothless crocodile

Extremely generous considering we lost 1-0 at home to fucking Hull

I don't quite understand where MVE was at times... seemed to be a CDM with the ball? but was always 2 steps away from where he was supposed to be? JDS played above his assumed ceiling, most others were average at best. why we insist on keeping on crossing in against them I'll never understand. no plan b at all.

We played a Championship team playing abysmal football and lost. Personally I can't see how playing 2 wingers as a newly promoted team in the PL is going to work . We are well short in terms of PL ready/experienced players .Long hard season season ahead

Surprised at the high scores for Yirenkyi.

Few sloppy touches. Had zero idea of positioning. If you watched other players around him today- they spent all game telling him where he needed to be (Rushworth, Thomas and Grimes were constantly barking at him)
Because of this he lost his man constantly.

Wasn't seeing 26 million pounds worth of player with him..

Maybe I'm just in a bad mood but I don't think JDS was as good as people are saying. All of his crosses went out for goal kicks.
His delivery is absolutely wank, always has been. At least he was tidy in possession and wasn't regularly in a different postcode like MvE though.

JDS deserves some credit. He was my biggest worry but is doing alright.

Who played well really though? Not many. Some are going mad for Yirenkyi and Tchaouna but neither were good enough for long enough in that match.

Grimes and MvE are struggling at this level. Awoniyi obviously has something about him but couldn't find the finish. Simms looks bombed out. No sign of Eccles or Cherif. It all seems a bit disjointed.

I don't expect us to get anything at Man City but we need to see much better and at least land a punch. The performances concern me more than the early results. We look limp.

Need to get the negativity out… all of our new signings look shit from Amenda. They look and play like cannon fodder. Really disappointed. They could be good for us in the Championship but that’s it.

It feels like Lampard has shifted us to wing play and the crossing isn’t good enough for the level where defences comfortably clear on the first ball.

We won’t land a punch at Man City. We won’t be scoring. We will get knocked out on the ring walk.

Rudoni - 4 - positionally awful, creates nothing as a 10, physically/mentally not quick enough to be relied upon as our main creator. Has some of the best PR in the league given how people speak about him.

Hamer - 5 - hope he’s eventually starting over Rudoni
LOL

If you think Rudoni is gonna cut it as a starting 10 in the league given he runs in treacle and is technically not good enough then you can’t be helped.

All he can do is operate as a decent box crasher.

Rudi isnt even fully fit yet and he put in a better performance than most of those that have played so far, he’ll get there give him time. Him and EMC will be difference makers for us it was clear to see

MVE was deep cover in the first half & should have been all game, dunno where he was for goal break till I see replays.
I definitely agree Grimes can't do that job he is far too slow, Yiryenki or Onyeka could I think, maybe even Hamer at a stretch.

The Hull goal break showing Sky Blues positions, Belloumi and Millar.
Milan woefully out of position, I think that's Torp near Tat's and Amenda is well upfield.
NB I noticed Millar practising his shooting before the game started and he was on fire!

If Rudoni runs in treacle, what is Hamer running in, sand up to his neck?

They’re essentially the same in terms of athleticism, but Gus is technically a level above Rudoni and is infinitely better at playing between the lines
