I agreed with that stance, would be quite happy if they'd stuck to it when Wasps pitched up! Just pointing out that they can take a stance on anything they like, SBT seems to think it would be unprecedented for them to do so.

I said this kind of editorial conspiracy - to destabilise and demoralise - would be unprecedented. At least I can't think of any examples - happy to be proven wrong. Obviously papers take stances on stuff all the time.

It's an extremely easy concept to grasp, but unfortunately I think that's been your undoing here.

Seriously - I get it. When someone makes a pattern of decisions that you disagree with - whether it's a politician, your boss, your parents, a football manager, whoever - it's very easy to assume there's some sinister ulterior motive at play. Pull a few questionable episodes together and you've got yourself a nice, convenient narrative that these opinions which seem so appalling to you are actually part of some vast conspiracy, which handily explains these decisions that seem so unfathomable to you. There are probably hundreds of people who do the same thing on here when it comes to SISU - you're doing it now with the local newspaper.

All the things you've listed above could hypothetically be the result of a newspaper-wide conspiracy, where a cabal of multiple journalists are commissioned to write pieces with the sole twin purpose of destabilising Coventry City Football Club, and lowering the morale of its fans (one of its core readership groups). They're being told to do this regardless of what facts may counteract them, because....well, because they have to support the council of course. Why do they have to do that? Above all other editorial and commercial concerns? Well, I'm sure you'll explain that to me another day. But either way - you're suggesting something quite major here.

Alternatively, you could take a breath and see them as something much simpler - newspaper articles that you disagree with. You've felt moved to start an entire thread to this article of supposed "spurious bullshit", when there's nothing to suggest it's factually incorrect in any way. You seem outraged at the mention of a potential winding-up order - so why did they include it in the story? Was it to spice the story up to ensure it got more clicks/eyeballs? Was it to cover their journalistic bases, so if a winding-up order did follow they could show they were on top of the story from the start? Or was it included solely to further the council conspiracy? Your previous opinions on the CT's work may well inform your choice.

Do I think the CT is whiter than white? Of course not - I can't think of any newspapers that don't get their hands dirty. The Alan Poole article was a disgrace, and Les Reid has made some pretty serious accusations about the CT's handling of particular stories, which deserve scrutiny. (I have my own opinions on Reid's own calamitous handling of the CCFC drama btw, don't worry) But forgive me if I don't immediately jump to the conclusion that the CT is quietly employing tactics more worthy of Soviet Russia than provincial sports journalism.

Ah you've made a sensible and serious post. I will reply later when I am back home.

Such a pain. Tony's one liners, which actually make Les Dennis doing his Mavis from Coronation Street impressions look like comedy genius, are so much easier to swat away.

I love how when you are talking to someone and some fucker pokes their nose in to attack a post, and it is either YOU, hill83, Grendell, or another nomark. Then when the poster fights back, they are ridculed for sticking up for themselves. Just one thing to say to you.... http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/gmsfu.gif

This will be fun.

If you want to go down that route, we're you not just ridiculing me for sticking up for myself and the entire thread when skybluebeduff called us all bellends?
Or are the tears saved for yourself only?
And you were also sticking your nose in.

Who's Les Dennis? Who's Mavis?

Wasn't trying to be funny. I assumed that's what you were doing with this thread. Funny thing is though now that it's clear you were being serious it just got a whole lot funnier.

And whilst so many are disagreeing on such a subject a more important meeting between SISU and RBC has come out that could lead to the end of our club as we know it if the wrong decision is made. We could end up with a home stadium near Rugby.

Or is this why Grendel is putting so much effort getting most to talk about a headline to a story?

Accusing Grendel of deliberately trying to distract from other issues based on his posting history is a pretty classic example of what I describe in my previous post.

That said, the irony of someone complaining about destabilising/demoralising the fanbase by starting threads which float wild conspiracy theories about the local newspaper shouldn't be ignored here.

I still don't understand how RBC could have truthfully answered "no" to the FOI question and now admit that a meeting with TF took place.

At board meeting on Thursday which was attended by Peter Ward and Jim Brown on behalf of SCG Steve Waggott confirmed that a commercial agreement had been reached with Pressley, he also confirmed there was absolutely no truth in the rumour about theft of the player database.

Wasnt it Mobray who spread this "rumour" ?

The Sky Blues boss had expressed his concern that there was no player database or a single scout on the books when he was appointed last month.

Why not, lets go down that route then. Beduff(If I'm not mistaken) was making a post to the "If the cap fits, wear it brigade" which you obviously were otherwise you wouldn't have bitten would you! Btw, You don't have to stick up for me, I'm big enough to look after myself. As for the others you were sticking up for the majority who you sarcastically abuse on a daily basis pal, so I'd put them in the same boat as me. You're not clever and you're not funny, so I'd give now if I were you.

Well, there you go. "Threat" and "theoretical winding up" out the window. If you had have posted this as post #2 we could have saved the rest. But we would have missed some fun - conspiracy theories, insults, misreading, talk of Mount Everest ( yes, it happened on here ), P.I.T.S. stadium etc etc

I do love a sarcastic post to be fair. No sarcasm aimed at you though you thick git.

Have you read back over the thread yet Mr Balls up? Or are you going to ignore it again.

Suprised you haven't offered to meet me down the pub for a fight again today.

Rumour about theft of player database? TM just said there wasn't one. Is that our fans again? Several incidents between players and fans and managers and players seem to,have been totally made up this season or at least blown totally out of proportion like 2 plus 2 equals 9,

Mowbray also said this

"I didn’t have it on a USB and take it with me and say, you’re not having that. It belongs to the club and that’s how you put infrastructures into clubs and leave them in a better position than when you found them.”

Which could be interpreted as the previous manager took it with him, when he left.

Where has he said it was theft? He hasn't, he has just said it is not normal practice and there is a big difference!
