Would have been a sizeable number from Bristol there too.

I think when the winter kicks in, they'll have crowds below 5k. Especially if fairweather sports fans in Coventry return to watch the football instead.

Reading the thread on the stadium announcer is amazing. The discontent is building.

Something not mentioned by most is the fact they've completely abandoned having a club shop at the stadium. That says a lot. Shows they haven't got the support in the local area to warrant having it. If they are going to rely on their original fans from the south as their support, they'll be in big trouble. Next generation will support local clubs instead.

They did well to attract the locals early on but it's collapsed. CCFC forced to move to Birmingham absolutely hammered their crowds.

Something else I heard this week was that the Ricoh offered to host Ed Sheeran for two nights next year. His team turned it down.

The stadium is run so poorly, they can't attract the names anymore.

Only by giving away freebies, that was never going to be sustainable.

If they’re going to make the attendance up at least make an effort. Exactly 8,500 🤔

Being honest , it looked less than some of our league 2 attendances .. Can they sustain these attendances in that sport , they could arguably go alot lower

I feel for their genuine fans who got shafted but anyone from Coventry who started supporting them can get fucked.
There appear to be quite a few come over from Brum, and there'll be a perfectly adequate stadium available there post Commonwealth Games. 18000 seats after the games. More than enough.
Just saying.

Not ideal, but could be worse. I have a feeling numbers will increase as the season goes on.

Interestingly some of the round ball lot have used the opportunity to make gross generalisations, wild guesses and ‘I heard from someone’ statements to once more predict our demise. I know hey are a little heady from doing so well in the championship. But seeing as we have a multi sports facility, a rugby stadium that we can allow football to be played on, a 10 year agreement with Coventry City which will bolster our coffers, a hotel, new training complex, multiple sports teams with our ladies team, a now fully functional academy and also the netball team. And they have SISU, a promised stadium that does look good on paper, but so far no guarantees, and are renting a space for their club shop I think we are a little more secure than they would care to consider. But let’s not let truth get in the way of prejudice and a good conspiracy hey fellas!

But nobody wants to watch them. Do netball and ladies rugby make big money? Does our rent money pay enough for their bond commitments?

The rugby club is like football clubs - wages exceed turnover and it loses money.

It will be a separate entity who owns the lease and all other operations around it - that will be at less financial risk but re-borrowing will have to happen and they will be at worse terms.

The rugby club is a vanity project for the owner in the same way many football clubs are

So salary capped at only 5 million for next 2 seasons - Having basically imposed the reduction on players last season.
Got a reduced TV contract and 27% goes to CVC now.
Things not looking so bright

Again the rugby club isn’t the owners of the lease

True, but Richardson's pockets aren't limitless, the rugby project has failed and the stadium in general is struggling to attract business. What's his exit strategy?

Went to have a look at what was said and one of their forums redirects to a Viagra site, stocked up.

Sure the Telegraph will be all over this. Chap that worked for them for 25 years, including it seems for free when they were skint, finding out the night before the game on social media he no longer had the job and his replacement walking out after one game due to the level of abuse from their fans seems right up their street.

What ever way you look at it this is bad form from Wasps. To just dump someone after that long without even having the courtesy to speak to him and explain what was going on is poor. Quite amusing the justifications their fans are coming up with, from us be blamed for somehow forcing them to use a different announcer as if anyone at the club would care about that to it being the poor blokes own fault to expect the courtesy of a call after 25 years service.

One of the agreements in our 10 year contract is Wasps have to use Clive as the announcer now.

Coming up Wasps vs Leicester City

Sounds like there was two of them doing the announcements for some reason as when he was getting stick for getting the players names wrong he said it was the other bloke. Not sure how some of their fans are claiming its a cost saving exercise if they've doubled the number of people doing the job.

They're also pissed off with JD as he announced he'd got the job with 'whatever you think of Wasps' 😂

Never liked him before but he now gone up in my estimation with that comment 😆
Also he sounds different at our games than before, more mature and speaks slower!

You know things are bad when you start giving out free tickets to away fans.

Also has anyone on here got an account with CBS and been offered football tickets ?
