Sir Nige blaming 'the establishment' again for this latest incident.

Yes Nigel, it was the establishment that made your councillors make those appalling comments. Of course it was.
He's also said "We actually vet to a much higher standard than the other parties."

Not sure he realises how bad that makes the party look. If they genuinely vet to a higher standard than other parties it raises the question of why they need to, and if these are the people who pass how bad are those that don't?

I think where the grey lines on this are, Reform are still a relatively new party and probably don't have the infrastructure or the right resource for the initial vetting process. I imagine there are lots more like them too who won't yet have been discovered and all they can do as these are exposed, remove them from the party and tbf to them they have done that in this case.

No doubt the ones in question will move over to Restore. It can hardly be a surprise that the more extreme sides attract even more extreme people as each will have a fairly broad church. I imagine there are plenty of Conservative voters to the left and right of me too and I'm sure similar with a lot of you who are staunch Labour supporters. Equally I'm pretty confident that the Green party will have some radical Muslims among their ranks and a similar expose could be out there but less newsworthy, so the pile on reads like a bit of faux outrage.
They don't have the resource? They've recently received £72m in donations - that should cover it.

They obviously have to but it’s safe to say councillors in general are of a type.

They are, but if Reform win a decent number of seats at the next election some of these freaks they keep finding may end up as MPs.

George Finch for example, who's wasted a load of cash and time for his *own party* to conclude there wasn't a problem in the first place.

Mind you, we knew that from the FOI request.

They are, but 95% are sound and care a lot and do a desperately dull and boring critical roles to run vitally important services. However and having worked directly with many Councillors in South East over last 25years, the handful of the racist and homophobic fruitcake Councillors who made comments in proffessional conversations, have all later transfered from Conservatives to Reform in last few years. Fair to say I've worked with a few clowns in Greens, LDs and Labour too but not nasty just old, idealistic and lacked common sense.

Ahhh. Now the Barclays economic forecast that flies in the face of the IMF forecast makes sense. They’re having a dig at the government because they don’t like what’s coming.

Robert Jenrick told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme on Friday: “[Nigel Farage] is the most heavily scrutinised figure in British politics, and he’s someone who’s probably done more than almost anybody else to stand against racism and the far right, and to protect our politics from that over the course of my lifetime.

This is a farcical comfort blanket taken by the remain campaign. It's embarrassing that the UK still pretends the cold war is still happening.

the reality is they fought an apathetic campaign with just outlooks that were negative if you didn’t stay with the status quo

Cameron was just a chancer - I was amazed it was as close as it was. The Labour leader wanted to get out anyway so just remained very anonymous through the whole referendum.

I agree, Cameron was so out of touch he thought Remain would walk it. Then the Tory idiots wouldn’t share a platform with Corbyn who spoke at more pro Remain rallies than any other campaigner.

Would be interested to know what made him classify it as a suspicious package.

Unfortunately Reform have cried wolf too many times on threats that later transpired to be untrue. People will therefore be naturally wary of claims of a suspicious package when both the police and fire service have issued statements saying nothing was found.

West Midlands Police: "We attended an address in Birmingham at around 7.30pm yesterday (15 October) to reports of a suspicious package. The package was tested by specialist fire service colleagues and showed no signs of hazardous materials."

West Midlands Fire Service: "Shortly after 8pm on Thursday, October 15 we were called to assist police at an address in Birmingham, where our specialist hazardous materials team tested the contents of a suspicious package. The results showed no signs of hazardous materials."

I’m not surprised
The eu was and is a wonderful idea not perfect but what is

The irony when you look at the EU is morons on GB News seem to believe Burnham is “hard left” as he wants to rejoin. Hard left would never be in it in the first place.

It’s a central liberal and conservative ideology that got us into it. The likes of Cameron, Heath, Blair, Ken Clarke and when they actually had some integrity Boris Johnson and Robert Jenrick were all EU fanboys. The only party demanding withdrawal in an election was the Labour Party.

To be fair, it probably was to start with, ie a trading bloc…throw in some security agreement happy days….what it’s morphed into on the other hand 🤷‍♂️

Sums it up

It’s ironic really as the politicisation of the EU was some moronic attempt to alienate the ex Soviet states against Russia and in many cases it’s spectacularly backfired

'many cases'?

There's a couple of them aligned with Russia. Even the neutral ones are now pivoting away from them.

Germany is clearly getting closer and it was a foolish strategy to allow states like Romania and especially Hungary any kind of membership

The far right is growing and is a direct result of EU open border policy

tbf it would be a nice thing for us to help a relatively poor and backwards country such as the Czech Republic.
Yes because Brexit Britain is a utopia flush with cash that we can rejoin the EU and be a net-creditor…

Some good news for a change?

what does it actually mean? Growth is nowhere near 2.7% this year.

It was actually published by someone else which showed huge growth in 2022

Wouldn't 2022 be the pandemic bounce back he mentions

But but someone who used to work for the Bank of England said it's actually all very dire

More coming out about reform from ITV. Replies on socials would seem to indicate calling for concentration camps plays well with their target voters. Full of comments about it just being leftists complaining and people saying they don't care they're still voting reform.

Thoroughly depressing tbh.
