Got taken in Christmas Day when it was peak covid, no visits allowed at all.People had it far worse than me - as you say not being able to attend funerals etc - so I'm not looking for sympathy, but I was only able to see my newborn baby for 2 hours a day while she was in hospital. Meanwhile those cunts were having parties in Downing Street.

To this day we don't really know what happened to him in there other than the fact there's something they are hiding. First couple of days he was chatting on the phone like normal then all of a sudden he had no clue what was going on.
Then he got stuck in there for a couple of months because they said he needed to go into care and there was nowhere for him to go. Finally got him in a care home and he had to go through a quarantine period so we couldn't see him there either. Was mid-March before we got to see him.

Fundamentalists of any religion are not 'chill'. The issue is that there's exponentially more fundamentalists in the ME and North Africa than Western Europe. Ignoring the little dig at 'the left' wanting more extreme lockdowns, my point is the likes of Johnson should be in prison, not just voted out of office. Johnson/Hancock were the worst people we could ever have in charge in a pandemic but a lot of the peoples issues stem from the worldwide scientists groupthink of pushing for harsh, long lockdowns. Some of the rules were ridiculous (and frankly inhumane) and the harm they caused from the overall financial cost, the impact on kids and society in general, are way beyond what any of us will probably ever know. I didn’t hear any/many in opposition calling for looser lockdowns though ? In fact it appeared that the further left the harsher, longer lockdowns people seemed to want.
We probably already know the numerous fuck ups from the Tories, what I want from the inquiry is;
how did it start/what’s being done to stop something like this circulate globally again (if possible) ?
were each of the lockdowns the correct response to the situation at their specific times (what was the cost benefit, would many of those deaths have happened anyway ie everyone would catch it eventually
would we have been better focussing lockdowns on elderly/those most at risk (and focussing initial limited testing on those that come into contact with them) ?
did natural immunity from catching covid provide the same/greater/lesser level of protection from catching and spreading it as the jab ?
and most importantly, have we now got a suitable pandemic plan regularly reviewed where we have local supply chains for the essentials required if another global pandemic arose
If we don’t get the above it’s a total waste of cash. I won’t be holding my breath though

People care less about the face at the top and more about the money in their pocket and their day to day lives which for most means interacting with some kind of public service and paying for the cost of living.I doubt it would. They have become the most unpopular party after winning an election that I can remember. People focus generally on the individuals at the top of government and they are just not endearing to the public. If they actually increase the base tax rate I would suggest that most of them start looking for new jobs outside politics pretty quickly.
