Basically you’re manager is far too negative, instead of seeing this game as easy 3 points like every other manager in the league, he’ll see it as, if we lose Derby are 3 points closer to us, we better not lose. this approach will then give the worst team in the league a fighting chance against you. You should be going out to batter them but instead you’ll be trying not to lose.

I know I jumped the gun by slating us when the line up came out saturday, but how the hell can you infer that without us having even put a team out.

It’s his mentality pal, it’s what he does in relegation scraps, he shits himself and hides behind a solid back 10.

And you know that because he's done it with you? If I remember rightly when we were last in a relegation battle (a long time ago) he was actually quite attacking with his mentality.

You seem a decent bloke, Barnsley, but telling us that MR is too negative is a bit rich. Try hopping onto Birmingham's forum (scored TEN goals all season) - you're playing them tonight - you'll soon see what negative is! FWIW I'm not convinced that Derby are the worst team, but think the Rooney situation has unsettled everything there. You can have an opinion on our team, as you have seen us a bit, but as for an understanding of MR's tactics/mindset? We scored 2 away at Watford, 3 versus Reading and 3 against QPR. We attacked Bristol City away?
If we lose, it won't be because we were playing for a draw.

Genuine question - are you on the wind up?

What against the top 6 and bottom 6 ?. I bet he wasn’t. The 12 teams between 6th and 19th maybe, but the other 11 teams I wouldn’t have thought so.

Don't we go onto the same points as them if we win tonight and they lose?

Watch when you play the teams you should/could beat, so far you’ve played Birmingham, Forest, and Barnsley. How did you go about them three games ?.

Shitting it about this game already, don't know how it hasn't got universal 'BIG GAME STATUS'.

Beat them and that's one spot we don't have to worry about for a bit.

Seeing as we're your second team, you should really be watching the games a bit more, then your comments would be better informed!

We scored pretty freely in the first lot of games. Also conceded pretty freely I don't think that's really the manta of a cautious or negative manager, do you?

Robins recently surprised us all with a shape change for one game, that was a little negative, but kind of worked.

He continues to surprise us with team selections. No one has any idea what team or formation we will see tonight, least of all you it seems...

To be honest I don't really care, if we get a point away from home that will do me. The battering of teams and positive football is an exclusively Barnsley ethos anyway

We seem to make up for it in the big games, taking points off Reading, Norwich and Swansea. Barnsley on the other hand seem to struggle and give up against the bigger teams. Will be interesting to see how both teams progress this year, I don't think we will be too far away from each other at all.

Given that you're only 3 points ahead of us I'd probably focus your concern a little bit more on your own team.

Best of luck 'trying not to lose' against Birmingham.

I'd agree, Barnsley look a particularly poor team. They had their new manager bounce and now have struggled last 2 games.

Struggled hahahahaha we played Blackburn off the park on Saturday. But just didn’t take our chances. Which is a common theme.

Rovers v Barnsley

There are no morals in the football business. So I guess it's fitting.

You've played every team you've faced this season off the park according to you. Fortunately the table doesn't lie.

Birmingham was cagey. Played Forest off the park in the second half and missed loads of chances before giving the game away. I didn't see the Barnsley game

Read that link pal, it’s not just me that thinks it, you’re judging us on results which is fair enough, but performance wise we’re much better than our results suggest, saying we’re struggling is way off the mark.

Watch your next 6 games against teams at the bottom end and see if you can say the same. I bet you can’t.

Good to see Barnsley doing better this season. It gives hope that clubs with the smaller budgets can compete, even if at the moment in the lower half of the table. This time last year, 12-13 games in you were bottom?

From what I have seen Barnsley are often going to be the victim of this given the style of play relies on extremely clinical finishing
