Didn’t he do that in the summer with O’Brien? Wasn’t he brought in to replace/compete with Burge?

What are you speaking about? Nowhere have I said he was good today. I just asked him who we should replace him with

Painful reading some of this....

It was bad, very bad....but prior to this we turned our season round so we must remain positive. The contradictions on here and meltdowns are pathetic.

Everybody knows we are far better than that today.

Yes and O’Brien isn’t good enough either. Need to invest in a keeper that is proven.

Todays performance needs to be adressed and sharpish! Mark Robins needs to take a look at his squad and work out who are up for the battle and who are not.

Make no mistake we cannot tolerate another performance like this. It should not be acceptable or it will become the norm.

In that defensive display, you single out Haynes?

- Not Hyam for the 2nd and 4th goals? (In fairness, the 4th he was left open because we were going all out)
- Not Grimmer for a terrible, underpowered header that their striker got to for a tap in for their 3rd?
- not McDonald for missing a header at the far post for their 5th (or his role in the second)?

Haynes played badly today, no doubt about that, he got skinned a few times. But, he’s the only defender not directly responsible for a goal.

FYI, below is a screenshot of the cross leading to their 1st goal. It was actually Grimmer and Reid who failed to prevent the cross, not Haynes. So, by your standards, Grimmer is actually responsible for 2 goals.

Points well made but Grendel is never wrong, he just has contact lenses problems.

The first goal is just awful goal keeping , I also don’t understand what Burge was doing for the second , diving the opposite way before the striker hits it? I know the second was the centre backs fault but it still looks bad on his part .

Sooner we get a decent keeper the better

The more I think about this, the more I think the players must have been on the piss over the weekend.

Today was just fucking retarded.

Well here's the thing. The recent unbeaten run was a bit tentative tbh, but we got away with it and confidence grew and so did belief. Today we had a very bad day and were hit early and a little shocked I suppose. The stats say we had plenty of the ball and shots on goal but whatever they struck it was shining bright. Well that sometimes happens and the final result is hard to accept in a season where we have been so tight at the back. Yeovil had not played for 2 weeks and clearly were fresh in mind and spirit. We played a couple of days earlier on a heavy pitch for a battling draw. It's not excuses but there must have been some heavy legs in there and of course we probably thought we just had to turn up.
So lessons to learn from this for sure. But the best solution is to get rid of it quickly. Put it down to one of those strange days and move on. Next game come out even more determined, hurt and wanting to make amends.
While the manner of defeat can be talked about for hours, these same players have done well this season and have a chance of promotion. We must remember it's one defeat in 8. One defeat regardless of the scoreline its just one defeat, 3 points lost. With others winning particularly Wycombe, our game in hand on them is less of a factor, but they all have tough games to come against each other and we can still capitalise. Just forget today. Lets get the next 3 points and put the pressure right back on those around us. A win at Notts County and the last 3 games we all would have taken 6 points beforehand. All to play for...

No he didn't dive the wrong way before the ball was hit, another Burge myth, rather than a Burge miss.

Get a grip ! Lincoln 1 Crewe 4 just a month ago. Today happened, it's gone. In the past. The future is unknown. Only the NOW is the real time and NOW we are still in a play off position. Don't try to analyse what might or might not happen in the forthcoming games - leave that until the results are known.

We've already established he weren't at fault for their 1st goal. As for the second goal? Both Grimmer and Haynes were high up field - so I don't really see how you can single out Haynes? In fact, go and watch the highlights over again, you'll see Grimmer trotting back despite the threat. You really are trying hard to apportion blame to Haynes whilst blatantly glossing over the more obvious mistakes other players made. Hyam and McDonald were all over the place today, Grimmer's mistake for the 3rd goal was the softest of the lot! You'd have thought we'd have wised up after the first 2.

I've challenged you once about how you can single out Haynes, don't go missing now.

Disclaimer: I like Grimmer as a player, but he was terrible today, he looked exhausted out there.

I’m not missing as I’ve said his defensive discipline is abysmal he’s a law unto himself and he wanders around the pitch at will. Oddly most agree with me not you.

I just cannot bring myself to watch the goals again. I think tommorow.

Worst display I have seen from is in my 25 years as a fan. And that's a big statement. When you take into account the opposition.

There are No positives from that game apart from Biamou.

I've never once said Haynes had good defensive discipline or positioning. My argument was purely that Haynes was being singled out for undue criticism. You've focused on his faults for the first goal - which we've established Grimmer failed to prevent the cross (why haven't you criticised him?) - and second goal, when the play was on the right side of the pitch? So Stokes playing or not most likely makes zero sense. If Haynes' positioning is a problem, so too was Grimmer's - they were both pushed higher up. More accurately, if McDonald holds his ground and doesn't leave a striker unmarked, that probably prevents the goal, if anything.

At least be consistent when criticising players. The whole defence was embarrassing today, including Haynes.

The worst thing about today apart from the obvious horrific first 14 mins is, you could tell Yeovil were worried at 3-1. Time wasting from the moment they scored as well.

That mcnulty header, the vincenti volley (on his fucking left foot think about it man), that open goal where everyone stood and watched. Hitting the bar, a corner cleared off the line, mcnulty forcing a 1 on 1 save.

Yeovil will never ever get so lucky again. That was a whole seasons worth of fuck ups in one game, I've never seen anything like it before in my life

Yeah. Off the top of my head I can't remember that many mistakes that all directly resulted in goals in one single match.

We had more than enough very good chances ourselves to score 4 and while Yeovil were indeed dangerous on the break, we gave them a massive helping hand up.

Makes this weekend's game now crucial. Mansfield play Crewe at home and then they play again on the Tuesday at Stevenage when we don't have a game on.

This defeat now has made the games against Notts County and at home to Lincoln (who have now overtaken us in the table) really, really vital.

It looks like 4 from us, Mansfield, Lincoln, Notts Co and Exeter for the play offs. We need a win at either Notts Co or Crawley to stay in contention.

The second goal was supplied to the player on Haynes side and once hyam misplaced the pass should have been in a position to provide cover. McDonald was up against two forwards On
