Biamou isn’t as bad some people make out but he doesn’t have a strikers instinct - well in this division, anyway.

You can’t coach someone to see images. Good goal scorers have a picture of the goal and the goalkeeper, they don’t have to look up

Where were you when the same was said in October ?

Certainly look more likely to score when Bayliss is in the middle for sure

Just drags the team forward, and his runs commit the back 4, leading to more opportunities - team grew in confidence as the game went on (as did the crowd). I believe !

Good result - Grimsby were terrible though to be fair.

Hyam, Grimmer, Bayliss, JCH and McNulty all stood out today. Oh and I actually like Haynes in the team ahead of stokes all day long.

Hasn't the upturn in form also coincided with Bayliss's inclusion, especially when he is played in the middle?

Otis , again I am no armchair hero but some of us turned against MR when it’s quite obvious he ahould play there , along with Biamou being played against others on the bench who have since proved themselves . I still have no confidence in MR it’s the players doing it , I reckon the players feel the same

He has never made a tactical change in a match to prove otherwise, indeed he has done the opposite

What do you mean ‘where were you?’

I don’t judge players in the first few months. Someone like McNulty for example started off poorly but I always knew he had class above this division and I did predict he would score 15 plus goals this season.

I didn’t judge Biamou because when a player comes from a league below they need to take some time to adjust. However, from watching him play now for many months, some of his game has improved slightly but he still has no strikers instinct

Yep, that's pretty much nail on the head. He's not as bad as some make out. Does some things well. No goalscoring instinct. He's a decent squad player for this level but Clarke-Harris is a better striker.

You have answered your own question . I don’t know if you have ever played football at any level , I have played football at what I would call minor level .

A lot of people here very early on realised his basic lack of footballing ability . You cannot now try to berate people because of that . He will never ever be a professional footballer and MR has to take a lot of Blame in even entertaining him . Injuries aside a waste of a good Cov shirt.

Are you even reading my posts? I’ve not berated you or anyone

I just simply said I gave him a chance in the opening months as players sometimes find the step up difficult

Can't see that anyone would disagree with that.

Biamou is a decent option to come on from the bench with 15 mins or so left though, even just for harrying, chasing down and making a nuisance of himself against tiring defenders. Same as Reid for Shipley (usually, though today it was Vincenti).

Luton just picked up another 3 against Barnet - Wycombe with 70 points seems a long way off but is the target

Also some extra after thoughts:

Hats off to Grimsby for the away following in a shite position in shite form.

Was lovely to see the confidence in Bayliss at times, running at players in a way I haven't seen from a City midfielder for a while. L2 defenders don't like it and he'll always have half a chance while he does it.

You live in a weird world. So when we do well as a team, the players deserve credit and MR doesn’t, but when we did badly, it’s MR’s fault? Strange.

I think it was worth trying Bayliss on the wing with Kelly and Doyle in the middle. That CM partnership was a large contributor to our defence being the best in the league. After Jones, and before Vincenti, there was no standout candidate for the RM berth. A worthy experiment which didn’t go to plan. Surely the manager deserves credit for reconignising that instead of doubling down.

Same goes for your point about Biamou. He recognised we needed a ‘number 9’, went and got a damn good player in JCH, who, let’s not forget, was a 3rd choice target. Who would you have lined up with McNulty at the time? Beavon? Ponticelli? Biamou was the best option at the time and, overall, their partnership was beneficial to the team for a while. JCH is just a player who’s head and shoulders a better player.

Oh, and of your point about ‘not playing players who have since proven themselves’, if this relates to JCH, it’s a dumb point to make because when signed him Biamou has scored 2 goal in consecutive games - so dropping him would’ve been unjustified. JCH earned his starting place.

We just have to do our bit and keep on winning.

We win every game that will surely be more than enough to secure automatic promotion.

Yep, he still is. One good save in the first half but comedy moments to add to his collection in the 2nd half.
