That isnt because I think we will turn up and hammer them, I havent thought about the match as much as I did the notts C one.

If Exeter’s performance in the two games against us this season are anything to go by then I wouldn’t be too worried. They offered nothing in the game at the Ricoh until the last few minutes when Reid was through one on one with the keeper and Burge saved. That apart, it was a very comfortable win for us. In the away game, they scored early and seemed content to sit back and shut up shop. We still made several chances and should have come away with at least a point. I can’t believe that this was the level of their performances throughout the season as there were a few teams I would say were better than them based on those two games. However, they must have something about them to beat Lincoln over two legs. Surely if we play like we did last week we will win.

I'd say so, if we come out and get a 2 goal lead again we will win it. If we let them score early it is going to be a massive job to turn it around as they will sit back like they did in the game when Burge had the howler.

Even so, at 2-0 up on 80 minutes I will be shitting myself every time they come into our half.

Easy 5-0 win, nothing to worry about.

nice day out.

We need to win more than Exeter do. They are a nice little club, doing OK in League two, decent days out, fair chance of a good result for the fans. If they go up they will struggle, relegation next year is a near certainty, they are going to be losing their manager after the game regardless.

On the other hand, if we lose, we will lose McNulty, Jones and Bayliss to higher level teams, and we will have to do it all again. Next year want be AS bad, as we will have learnt the lessons we were taught at the beginning of the season, but it still won't be pleasant.

I’m sure I heard that 8 out of the last 9 who scored first went on to win in the final.

First goal is more key than ever

Worry ye not sir, I remember telling my then brother in law (at the tender age of 17) not to panic when Clive Allen scored after 2 minutes at Wembley. The gods were with us that day, and if they are again, we will win.

It's starting to hit home how important this game is. Either way, I am looking forward to next season. 90 minutes can change everything.Born in 88, all I've known is disappointment. Int hose playoff games; it's nice to be on the other side of "only if this would have happened".

1, 2, 3, 4.....

Stats seem to indicate that if we score first we will win, and also if Exeter score first then ditto. I expect that is the statistical norm, frankly, so not that significant. The big risk is "After the Lord Mayor's ball". I suspect we have the players for the extra space, although Doyle and Kelly are going to be dog tired by the end as they cover a lot of ground.
I can't see it being 1-0 and regardless of their defence can't see us scoring just the one goal. so I am inching towards the same score as last year at Wembley

Getting nervous now. Wembley last year was a jolly as it was pretty meaningless so the day was all fun but lose on Monday and it'll be devastating. Really proud of the lads for getting us here though, they've done a great job and this season has been far more enjoyable than I expected despite the standard being appalling at times. Play like we can and we'll put Exeter away but I worry about them being complacent after last Friday, we never seem to put two brilliant performances together either. As said before first goal is key, get ours early and we could run away, let them in early and it could be a horrible afternoon. I hope we get the win, this fanbase desperately needs something tangible to celebrate and it would be great to see how the team with this togetherness and a few additions does in league 1. Win and Wembley is going to be electric all evening.

Not sure I will be devastated. Guess I won't know until tomorrow, but all I want is a performance we can all be proud of.

We play well and try our very best, but lose, I don't think I will be too disheartend.

Time will tell.

Just hope it doesn't all come down to an error or slip up, or a penalty that never was etc.

I am feeling pretty confident about it all. Hard not to after that performance at Meadow Lane. Recreate that and we surely cannot lose, but of course there is always the unlucky deflection, bad back pass, keeper slip up that can leave you undone.

Football can be cruel at times. Do have to say though, I do not fancy us at all if it comes to penalties. I think we would bottle it.

Really hope it doesn't come down to that.

Defeat would be devastating for me. Yes I'd get over it, we'd regroup and go again next season, but just feel this could be a massive turning point for the club, it could really be the start of something.

I'm sure we'd compete again in this league, but promotion would see us kick on again I feel. I'm shitting myself to be honest.

Those sorts of stats mean sod all though. 5 out of 6 teams playing their play off SF at home, got through to the final.

We bucked that trend.

If we concede first, I’d still bet on us to turn it round.

Seems to be all the rage in US sports, guess its catching on over here. Presume the idea is that every meal is covered rather than just when the players are at Ryton.

I would still be optimistic for next season but being that close to promotion and seeing the Exeter fans celebrate as we walk away from Wembley knowing we couldn't quite do it would feel like a kick in the goolies. The evening will be a huge party or a massive disappointment based on that game.

Really dreading tomorrow now, the nerves have really kicked in. As others have said, this really could be a turning point and feel that with a few wise and quality additions to the squad, the momentum could proper us to be competitive in League 1 and even challenging at the right end of the table.

I will be devastated if we don't win tomorrow.

We certainly overcome a few trends to get past Notts county, which brings its own question how many more can we do.

These type of trends are a weird phenomenon that can bizarrely run for years.

Is the tide finally turning for city under MR safe hands?

I cannot call tomorrow, 90 minutes to find a hero or villain it’s that tight.

Should we tho fail we will be a strong force next year once again that I fancy to go one better and achieve automatic promotion.

Yup, same here, unless we lose quite a few of our best players.
